Hello again
Ok pulled off the left front hub yesterday( 99 RANGER 4X4) to check the bearings. and guess what i heard, the sound of plastic cracking. A red plastic snap-ring, it looks like it goes around the axle maybe and the hub slides over it. Any ideas what it is and it's function and where to get it. I tried all the parts houses no one had it, i'll try ford tomorrow.
Also i cant find any exploded diagrahms of the hub showing it's parts. any help would be apprieciated.

Its actually a 'seal' or sorts for the PVH hub system. You can get them from your ford dealership.

You're right ryda, and ford had it for 20 bucks. Now i need to know how to reinstall it the lame instructions dont show much. Do i need a special tool, and if i'm thinking right does it go on through the front of the spindle. so i should only have to pull off the plastic hub.

Ok it's the axle retaining ring and the installation instructions are poor can anyone explain how to install it the easiest way
