I have a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge FF 3.0 motor in a 1998 XLT body. It was a lengthy swap to say the least. What my problem is now? I can't get the stupid fuel filter off! The space between the filter and the front line is too little to get the tool in. I tried the pen cap to no avail. I took a grinder to the tool and got it in. My hand strength is not good due to an injury. Several guys tried to take it off. So, now I have a bent tube on the filter that won't spin in the line. I have the tabs depressed but nothing! Question.....can I just take a hacksaw to the filter tube then get the bent tube out? Help! I can't afford to get anymore help around here.:icon_twisted:v

Glad it worked. Another idea to put in my brain box.

What did you have to do? Did you cut it off like you said? Just wondering for future use. I know mine was a PITA but after spraying for a few days with PB blast it came off easy. Normally a lot of crud gets in there since its exposed making the tool useless until you clean it out.
