About 2 years ago I took my Ford Ranger into a GM garage to have a turn-up and flush my transmission, only place in town that I thought that one could trust.

This week I took my FORD RANGER into a FORD GARAGE to have a new timing belt put on and to see why it was not running right, they took the plugs and wire out and they told me that it had AUTO LITE plug in it and the wires were bad, I gave the GM Garage Motorcraft Plug to put in it also they told me that they put new wires on it. They nether put NEW PLUGS OR WIRES on my FORD RANGER, but they charged me for the TURN-UP. Also I have questions about them even changing my Tran mission fluid which now I drought that they did.

There must be some where that I could report them?

Yes it cost me nearly $375.00 to have this work done.

This is not the only thing they have done to me.

My daughter has a 1995 FORD PROBE and the water pump went out on it nearly 2 years ago and I took it to them and they told me that the engine was melted. They cut the plug wires and took the valve cover off to see the damage, which I could not see any damage.

I did not know they cut the plug wires until last September when I had a different engine put into it and a friend of ours told us that they cut the wires, He said it was un-called for. He works at another GM GARAGE in another town. If it was not for him we would not of knew about it.

I confronted the GM GARAGE that cut the plug wires and they said too many people invalid in it now.

Now you see why I belive they need to be reported to someone.

Try the B.B.B. Short of getting a lawyer this is probably all you can do.Good luck!

Having spent several years in a "Customer Relations" position for a large multi-national company, I would say going to the BBB is a good start...

NOTE: Before you read the information below, keep in mind that yelling and screaming at people does not get you anywhere and causes more damage to your personal health than it is worth! Keep calm and persist...it scares them more when you approach them calmly than if you came in screaming and swinging...

What most people do not know or bother with is you can take your complaint to the corporate level by climbing over each "supervisor" or manger that you are referred to right up the chain of command to the PRESIDENT or his office at GM...

Your case is somewhat unusual in that the actual service you were supposed to receive was two years ago. If you have evidence that what was supposed to be done was not done then you may be able to get something out of it if you persist to the highest level of management...

Start with the store manager where you took the vehicle and if you do not get a resolution ask for his boss' number and indicate what actions you intend to take to get the charges reversed or reduced...(as in cimbing up the corporate ladder...do not tell them that you intend to stir up local interest because they just shrug and say talk to our legal department)

If he does not provide you with information calmly take his name and tell them you are documenting everything...and if you are going to record conversations tell them up front because it is illegal to do so otherwise in most states...

They usually will try to resolve the matter with you and offer some sort of concession... unless they really don't care...

Another route: Advertise in local papers requesting information on anyone who has experienced similar shoddy work practices...you might be able to stir up something that they do not want out in public...

Remember to stay calm...don't get worked up over it because the amount of stress that this sort of thing causes ONLY affects you...you may upset a few people on the way but that's what keeps companies honest...

Hope this helps...

that sucks, but this is the reason i work on ALL my rigs, i know it is done right and every thing is sound.
