need help bad!!!

i have a 88 ranger with the 2.9. on my way home from work the truck just shut down. i pull over tryed to start it and i dont here the feul pump kick on, so i tow it to my house,i changed the feul relay. nothin, so i ran a jumper wire down to the high presure pump and put 12 v to it and it works. i have checked all fuses too. i checked the intera switch also. i dont know were to start lookin. any one have any input on what i can check that i havent yet? thanks mike

Check the TFI module on the distributor.

Check to see if you have spark.

If there is a problem with the ignition system the computer will never turn the fuel pump on, so the fuelpump not running is not a particularly revealing symptom.
