I cannot get the crankshaft timing gear pulley off of this motor! It came off of my old 2.3 with no problems at all but this one won't move!

Is there a special puller I can rent/buy to take it off? There's not much room around it either. Thanks.

I cannot get in there with those tools and even if I could there's no way to punch it from behind. thanks for the reply though.

It seems as though I need a special puller to get behind it to pull it out but AutoZone does'nt seem to have it. My wife's been there twice for me already. She's there now for the second time and I even sent her with the gear off of the old motor and they gave her a pilot bearing removal tool!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGH!!! PLEASE HELP!!

She just walked in with a three jaw puller that seems pretty small. Let me go see if it will work. Later.

I pried mine off with a big flat bladed screw driver

Thanks for the repliues guys. It's old news now though. I ended up getting her off with the three jaw puller but only using two of the three jaws....haha.

I replaced the seal and now have the timing belt back on. I put the new plug wires on, the wiring harness as well and have the upper plenum of the intake on too! I took a break for a little while and will probably get back on it later tonight when it cools down a little.

Seems like all I have left now is to remount the power steering/AC bracket and install the new battery and switch wiring I bought yesterday.
