ok so its raining yesturday and my dad gets in the truck and the wipers stop working. try to fix them thinking like before the connector was wet. nope it was dry. ok so he is now late for work. well driving the air bag light turns on. and than 5 mins later my new ohc turns off as well. the ohc is tied into the radio for power but the radio is still working. and than the blickers and hazzards stop woking. than the speedomiter stops as well. than all of a sudden the ohc works and air bag light turns off than 1 min later stop working. i am so confussed. how are all these tied into each other. i didnt think they were. please any help i can use i thank u for it. so i'm outside now trying to fix this issue cuz i need to drive across the state. and i need all these things to drive. i was told check the gem but my gem seems to be fine.

Do a thorough visual inspection of every electrical connection and ground you can find.

Battery terminals, alternator connections (have it tested at many AP stores for free, bad alternators give weird symptoms sometimes) clean the grounds on the fenders, radiator support, head to firewall, behind the parking brake kick panel, same on PS kick panel, security of maxi and all other fuses, etc.

Wiggle harnesses when things aren't working.

i have afew pics of what i think it may be but not sure.

Were those diodes exposed like that, or did they have tape on them? Did you have someone install an alarm in your truck? Looks like a hack alarm install. Where does the purple wire lead to?

thats how i bought it i guess and it lead to the radio area i just took out my system too. and yes thats how they were no tape

Great googly moogly, that is a mess.

I have no idea what that kluge is.

Still, it has to be something in common to all those failures.
Try everything with the key in Run, engine off, then again, engine running.

Regardless of whether it's related to the current problem, or not, you probably want to fix that rats' nest.

See if you can find wiring diagrams for your truck, determine what those wires should connect to, and return it to stock. Shouldn't need more than 1 butt-splice per wire.

You'll probably want to disconnect the battery before starting, too.

Having a set of wiring diagrams will also help you troubleshoot your original problems, if they're not part to the snarl in question.

Well, the way that diode is situated, it looks to me like the purple wire was probably hooked to the remote to run an amplifier, crossover, light, etc. I don't know for sure if this would be related, as it should be a different circuit. With that "rats nest", it looks like anything is possible. Looking at this reminds me of why I labeled my wiring for my alarm/power lock install.

Did you check all of your fuses like Earl recommended?
