need help 97 v8 swap

i am doing a v8 swap i have a 302 that came out a 94 ford what all do i need for the tranny i have the 5speed 2.3 in it now what would be my cheapest and easeiest way to complate it

and also the wireing harness

You will need a fullsize trans for the 5.0. The factory ranger ones wont bolt a 5.0.

Check the tech library out, there is alot of info in there on doing a 5.0 swap.

can i grab one off an exporer and the wireing harnessi want to keep it fuen injected

I would grab an explorer setup, easier and cheaper in the end. Only thing with the explorers they have the PATS setup in them for 98+ years. The 96 and 97 years don't. But also some of the years have return fuel setups and some don't.

Also i can't see it or not, but are you 4wd? Explorers came in two and four wheel drive versions.

Personally i would get an older less "smarter" setup such as one from a mustang or any other HO 302 FI vehicle. You don't have to go HO though...

Best thing i can say is do research on the 302, not all are the same.The tech library is packed with info along with the "stickys" in this section.

Ok well the motor I have came out a 94 f150 should I just get tranny from an f150 to match it but I still want to just do pretty much plug in play and twist some wires together if I have to

The intake setup from the f150s is to tall to fit under the hood of a ranger and will hit the hood.

ok yeah i seen the intake wont fit and thanks for that help ill post some pice right now i am in the processes of taking the old motor out do i have to put a lift to clear the firewall? some say you do and some say you dont

Did you read any of the links that I posted in post number 7? The first link shows what it takes to put a 5.0 under the hood of a 83-97 RBV.
