Ok well I'm in the process of buy my grandfather's standard 86 Ranger. i would like to know how much room is behind the bench seat, for subs. A link even would help. If you have a Ranger in this rang of yearing it would be nice to see pics of how you arranged you subs with the bench seat. ANTHING WOULD BE GOOD PLS HELP.

Edit: What are the stock front speaker sizes.

in my 88

4" front speakers, however they were 3 screws, so you have to fab a new bracket system for them since all new speakers are 4 screw mounting

behind my 60/40 seat was a shelf that is approx 4-5" deep, 50" wide, and 13" tall before there was a hump in the back wall that stuck out.

ok so i should be able to make a wide box with my shollow subs in it and they fit? still would like to see a pic of some ones lol

use the search function, or youtube, or google.

they all will have examples of standard cab installs. i'll finish mine up soon hopefully, almost a year in the making because i don't have a lot of funding or time or access to tools.

i have but thats the reason im asking cause i couldnt find much.

stock front speakers are 4''

the system i had in my truck was 4'' in the dash and 6x9's in the door. man did that thing kick.

but when it comes time to do another system.

6 1/2 polk audio components in the doors.

and a kicker 10'' in between my bucket seat.

theres room to do 2 10'' subs and an amp behind the seat, without losing legroom.

but i would recommend 8''s because they will fit better and sound better do to the lack of airspace back there, or a single 10'' sub.

ok so i want to no if i do 10's can they be regular and not shallow?

I would say no. I have one shallow and it fits perfectly. i couldn't imagine a regular 10 inch fitting without moving the seat forward.

ok how about if i tilt it. can i see some pics cause all the link ya'll give me and i can find dont show many with bench seats.

a bench seat is the same as a 60/40, just isn't connected in the middle so that you can control the depth/angle of the seat on both sides...

i'm not sure how much of a math kind of guy you are, but this is how you can find the depth of a wedge box at any given point...

however, obviously you would change the coordinates to the size of the box you are wanting... it's pretty simple algebra/geometry though.

yea ill do that when i get home. i have already donr all that but i wasnt sure if they would work thats why im askin. im gettin the truck in 2 weeks and already have the sub.
