tomarrow morning i will be going to look at a BII, i am considering trading my old '87 f150 4x2, the truck needs some work but the bronco needs a O2, the guy seems like a pretty straight forward and honest guy but then again people can be deceiving..

what should i look for?
this is going to get me flamed for sure but...i do not know the year, i do know it has the 2.9, and a 5 speed stick.

this won't be my DD, just my weekend toy and trail truck, also if i get it look forward to a budget build thread to pop up not long after i get it.

also if you guys know of any axle upgrades that can be pulled out of newer RBV's that are better/stronger inform me..
any thing that can be snaged from the bone yard let me know, because besides a possible lift and any parts that are useless to use if they are used, this will be built out of the boneyard..

thanks!!:icon_welder:

He says all it needs is a 0-2 sensor then why didnt he put one on it? First red flag if it has good compression, oil pressure, is it holding fluids are the axles tight. If your trading one fixer for another are you gonna have to pass emissions. Here in WA you have to pass to change the title/s. The tech library has alot of info on upgrades but from what I have read the sky`s the limit it just depends on what you have available and your ability to make it happen.

What year is it? That will be a big help in telling you what possible upgrades there are since we will have a better idea of what's already on it.

For possible problems and fixes check the tech library, blue button, top of this page under TRS and third to the right.

Improvements include but are not limited to;
4.0L and m5od or
v-8 etc.
D-35 and gearing to match the 8.8
8.8 with gears suitable for tires
Tires suited for the wheeling you plan on doing
Best to get a complete donor vehicle as it can have everything you need. I bought a rolled '91 exploder for that reason.
Research!
Good luck,

Richard

well i went to look at it and i'm pretty sure it a BIIG 10-NO..

he told me he drove it and tested the 4x4 yesturday... NOPE truck hasn't moved in a year or more..

it had a E-fan, i was like "ok, cool, one upgrade already done"... NOPE the wiring was the worst i have ever seen.. poorly spliced wires, lose connections, harness cut and poorly spliced...

Went to start it and another NOPE, thought it was out of gas, got gas still nothing.. acted like it wasn't getting spark, he had a desiel battery in it and he drained it trying to start it..

if you know anything about baseball you know its 3 strikes and your out..
he's 3 for 3...

also just for you guys info, its a '86 D28 front, and it looked like a 7.5 in the rear
