Okey I am usein a 89 f150 for a doner, can I use the wireing harness from this? or do I need a mustang harness? And were can I find what wires to cut and splice at? In the tech libeary it shows a BII are the colors and all that the same on the 3.0 rangers? mine is a 97. And what can I do about drive shafts? I want to use the fullsize tcase were I dont have to buy an adapter.

well what size is the engine that you are going to swap in?

well i doubt the wiring harness working completly. you will have to make modifications for the distributor wiring. the fuel pump will need to be swapped. if you have a factory tach that you want to keep you will have to modify for that as well given that a 6 cyl tach will not read the v8 properly. i also doubt most of the other stuff working given that you are swaping a obd1 motor to a obd2 computer and wiring harness so you may be looking at a entire harness swap.

Carb or EFI? Driveshafts are the last thing to worry about, get the motor where it fits and hope the DS's fit. Nobody said these swaps are cheap. If EFI, match the wiring to the computer.

Ever thing is comeing out of the same doner, Iv hear the wireing is nothing hard to do. I have a 89 full size with the 5.0/302 so how do i go about the wireing?

okey change in planes.....got a good deal on a intake and carb, so with wireing a carb can I jus get a vacume adavance dizzy? or how does that work. Im a totle newb when it comes to wireing a ford.

summit has vacuum advance kits so you can order one and it will most likely come with instructions for the installation.

If you go carb, you will need to either replace the fuel sending unit or get a fuel pressure regulator. Your easiest option is to get the ECU, engine wiring harness and fuel rails from a 96-97 V8 explorer, these are plug and play with the rangers. Like said above, cause you have an OBD2 vehicle (95+) and are trying to install an OBD1 system, you will have a greater challenge. Most are not swapping older systems into newer trucks, but thats not to say it can't be done. Grab you an electrical schematic of both trucks, and trace down the wires then splice them together. Take one wire at a time and you can get it done. You should only have about 12 wires or so to trace and match. A mustang harness would be better than the one you have, as it is more of a standalone harness (and easier to adapt to other electrical systems), the explorer is the easiest, and your donor's the most difficult. It will come down to how much time you want to invest in the wiring as well as how much coin you have to invest into the swap :icon_thumby:
