Okay guys throwing a question out there for advice.

There is a 84 Bronco II Eddie Bauer Edition. I am looking at buying. They want $1500
Specs
2.8 V6
C5 Auto
7.5 open with 3.45 gears
Miles unknown

Looks really clean in the pictures, even the shot of the top of motor is clean, bottom could be a different story. It was suppose to have been owned by this persons grandparents. Pictures lean towards truth by the interior and exterior in pictures.

Here is the kicker too, it has receipts in the ad for a little over $3K worth of work, dont have the itemized list, date or mileage when it was done to see how recent. But it could be favorable, as one ticket was for $2k alone.

I do not know much about the 2.8 except the emission stuff suck which can be cured with duraspark and there is a hotspot due to merged manifold?

Need advice!

I have been given a rust-free 86 ranger for free, and then sunk 2000 dollars of parts into it. I would pay for an inspection to find any problems. If good then $1500 isn't out of line.

It really looks clean in the pictures, to clean to have 500,000 miles! If they have all the receipts, that might be verifiable. Many people don't realize it is a 5 digit odometer and may think 50,000 miles is 500,000 miles. It is certainly worth a closer look. Being a carburated 2.8 gas mileage will be less than the FI 2.9 and its getting harder to find people that know carbs. Post your finds after you drive it.

How many old people would have a monster energy drink sticker on their car (on the steering wheel pic)? Just that alone I would be wary. It looks clean and probably is, but that one sticker makes me question....

Good catch! Could be a grandchild insistence though...we all know how kids can be...lol...

Looks clean and the good news is if the 2.8 carps out on you there are a few options that you can toss in there to make it more fun...

I like it...although I'd prefer a 4wd if anything along that lines...even though I drove a Sidekick for 6 years and used 4wd roughly once a year...nice to have it if you need it though.

Test drive it for sure...if you find the gas mileage is too much you can always toss the A/C and the PS...two huge drains on any motor...

Well I ended up buying it. It is in awesome condition.

Fantastic story too. I have all records of EVERYTHING that has been done to this from 11/84 to now.

I might have to start a thread on it to share the story, pretty amazing maintenance record. Oh and it does not have 500,000 miles, it has 256,000 but does not look or drive like it. This thing was garaged its entire life.
