need advice on putting oem fog lights on my Ranger

Hello ! so i have a interesting one once again for yall i want to give my 03 Ranger with no fog lights... fog lights BUT! there's a catch im doing a 98 to 2000 face lift so i will be using those type of fog lights and switch etcetera. and i have no idea where to start i know i need the switch and the wiring and it looks like there is already factory fog light wiring there! or at least right behind the valance panel and i looked at the 03 and 98 to 2000 style of fog lights connector and there the same so that shouldn't be an issue i just need help with the wiring itself i would also like to do it as oem as possible thank you for reading and i appreciate any input!

I would look in your fuse box under the hood to see if the fog relay is there and then behind the bumper to see if the fog light connectors are there. They will have tan/orange wires. if so all you need is the switch and the fog lights (and maybe brackets). And if you want an OEM look, get a radio bezel with the hole for the switch.

ah ok thank you which replay is the fog light one? also i have the connectors down there i can get some pictures if you want? and the bezzle and switch wont be a problem because i can just order them from ford but i dont think there is wiring going up to the switch might have to work on that ! i looked back there and there were no wires or connectors hanging around

I don’t know if you can get that bezel or switch from Ford. I got mine from the junkyard for about $15. Just need to clean it up and repaint it. I have a 96 and I didn’t have any of the wiring so I just followed the Ford diagrams and wired it up myself.

wow ok this should be all i need thank you very much!!! also you actually can get the bezel from ford still i dont have 4wheel drive so i need the one with the standard stuff and the switch hole or i will check the junkyard but this should be everything ! im also going to make a small diagram of wiring before i put it on the truck i am very interested in the wiring of stuff i just cant visualize it hahah but this is all good thank you again!! oh and it shouldn't
matter but i have the 3.0l that might change some wires but it should be fine!

oh also if i wire it all up myself and the relay is in the fuse box which it is how would i connect it to the rest of the circuit or dose it already go to the main
light switch?

I would check first to see if the switch connector is already there. If it is, you were basically ready to go.

yeah i will check again i looked the other day very briefly and dident see a connector so i dont think i have one but i will look again thats why im wondering how to tie in the relay because you know i need that haha

Since my truck didn’t have any of the wiring, I did what this guy did with his Ranger. Doing this, you will keep your harness separate from the factory harness. It wasn’t hard to do. ahh ok i saw his thing so just add a extra relay and make it its own kind of circuit i also have to look at the connectors in the front i tried to follow them but they go int a main harness so i might have to dig those out and follow them im hoping those go to the fuse bit to the relay.
but anyway thank you i think i can figure something out from here i apreciate this!!
