Hello,

Need a new battery but want your money's worth;

Interstate MTP-65HD... don't think 2x

your WELCOME ☕☕☕🚬🚬🚬

Batteries is goes zaaaap

Only when you lick both terminals at once.....

Then underwear goes "eeeeww, Gross!!!!!!"

I know Motorcraft batteries are expensive but I processed warranty claims from 1985 until 2017 and we had so few replacement battery failures that I had to look up the procedure to claim them. My Mustang sits from about November 1st until mid April every year, I try to start it every month or so. I'm particular about the car, if I had to jump start it the clamps would scratch the terminals and I'd replace my battery cables so in 2017 I replaced a 9 year old Motorcraft battery that hadn't failed yet. Interstate batteries may be good, I know Motorcraft batteries are.

Couple years ago Consumer Reports magazine tested batteries and two of the top rated ones were Walmart's Everstart Maxx and Auto Zone's Duralast Gold. There is an Auto Zone near my house so I've mostly been buying those for the family's cars, no issues except the one I got for my Sport Trac developed a leak after two years and they replaced it on warranty for free, not even pro-rated.

I go to rural king & pick up a battery for about $55. they usually last at least 5 years for me, I think the brand name on them is exide.

Never had much luck with Wally World Neverstarts. Went through something like 6 or so of them, always got the ones with the three year free replacement and they usually died in year 2. Had to call the battery manufacturer and walmart corporate to get them warrantied the last time and still got static at the store level. I will never buy another of those. Two of them over the years froze solid.

Had decent luck with Diehard, but since Sears closed, well...

Not really happy with Autocrap or whatever Advance sells, I had them die in 2-3 years and brought them a battery so dead it wouldn’t jump (the first time I tried to warranty a battery that had to be jumped every day they told me it was fine, so I let it sit for two weeks in the middle of winter), they tried to tell me it tested good.

Mostly I stick with Duralast Gold from Autozone anymore. They know me at the store and I don’t get hassled.

Except in rare instances, I normally buy from Costco. They're anywhere from 20-50% cheaper than elsewhere, and seem to be decently made (lasting about 4-6 years in a typical application).

Costco's batteries are made by Johnson Controls (who also makes Interstate, and a gazillion other brands of batteries).

There are three major (U.S.) battery manufacturers: Johnson Controls, Exide, and East Penn.

Over the years I have had good luck with Wal-marts EverStarts But only the big car/truck batteries. I would replace my wheelers battery every year till I went with a different brand. I currently have a Napa Legend 75 in the R anger that is 2 years old and no problems so far, even though in the winter it sits for weeks on end without running at times and always starts the truck.

I've run Interstates in the past and from my experience with them they last as long as the EverStarts from Wally world so I can't see the extra cost. The battery I replaced in my truck was a 2 year old EverStart but was never properly mounted and the kid bounced the truck quite a bit so it didn't surprise me it was bad when I got bought the truck. I had to remove the battery tray and weld a new nut on the bottom for the hold down to mount it properly, for me no big deal except they welded and bolted the tray down from the factory so drilling was required also.
