neat story about a broncoII bitter sweet

that's awesome, i know i love mine... i don't think it's that unstable... lol. its all in what you get used to i suppose.

Heh, heh, my 85 BII was unstable.......or it might have been me driving too fast on a 3" sheet of ice after an Oklahoma ice storm, with nearly bald tires......ripped my newly made front grill gaurd right off when I hit that tree sideways. Hey, at least i didn't take out the ranch owners fence. that would have been costly.

Unstable, naaaaa

I love the part about the guy making a rear facing third seat out of plywood and styrafoam for the kids in the back!, can you imagine a third seat in a bronco 2, you be arrested for child abuse these days....unstable? That's why we lift em up and widen the tires enhance the suspension, etc, that makes them much much safer, ha!

I've only felt unstable a couple of times when doing some defensive manuevers because people pulled out in front of me. twice last week. But under normal circumstances, I love the handling.

I've had my b2 in some hairy situations and i never was worried about rolling it over. my dad actually did roll it over shortly after he bought it in 96....well he rolled it onto it's side.

43 fatalities in 5 years of production? that doesnt seem that high to me, am i wrong?

People need to realize that they are driving an SUV, not a sports car.

I have no problems with the way my BII handles.

this! exactly... its not meant to turn at 80 mph's, hell i don't think they are really made to be going 80 anyways... now mine will run about 100.. just very very unstable..

Yeah, I'm not seeing the handling issues, I have a 20 year old truck that I drive daily on dirt roads, and highway. What's worse is he thinks the heep is better

Man, that is a really, really nice looking truck in that article.

It boils down to the fact that an SUV doesnt handle like a sports car....

Jeep CJ's are notorious for roll overs too :icon_thumby:

My B2 (how I miss the beast <3) was tippy, but that was a given. I grew up with three wheelers. Learn to drive something before you complain about the rollovers. =D

You just gotta know how to drive it. I don't like the feel of the Wrangler's either though.

of course everyone here understands that, but the average high school student does not...

agreed

I' had some close calls in the B2 on highways but even with the 2 in lift and 30s and some quick swerves at higher speeds for a small SUV she handled well and saved my ass more than once...you can flip just about anything if you drive bad enough....

I think its overexaggerated one of the first vehicles I drove was my lifted bronco II and I never felt unsafe or worried once while driving it. I think its just another way for someone to try and scare people away from the superior bronco and go to jeep lol. Also I kinda thought it was gonna be a story about someone rolling a bronco or somthing close to that affect witch would partially suck, but I also love that kind of carnage.....lol
