well i finally got around to it, im getting the axle ready to cut 6". i need alot of parts yet like shafts, spindles, bearings, hubs, rotors. i know where i can get a set of hubs and rotors and bearings but i need the spindles and shafts. if anybody has anything let me know.

dragged the axle out of the corner and put it on some jack stands

im thinking of cutting by the housing rather than by the knuckle, theres just too much stuff in the way over there like the radius arm wedges. its alot cleaner next to the housing. all input welcome

done it several times

Probably best to continue doing it that way. I'm thinking any attempt at trying to get the tube out of the housing itself will only net you extreme frustration and possibly a damaged axle housing.

ok, but how do i clear all of the parts off the housing like trac bar mount and radius arm wedges? i want to be able to re use them parts so i dont want to cut hte shit out of them

yes? like i said a couple times, whats your point? i dont see anything there about removing the radius arm wedge pieces and trac bar mount

I give up

You're going to have to explain better what it is exactly you're trying to do.

ill try and get some pics tonight to compare it to you from the bare axle tubes in the pics of that page

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you have the cast wedges, which means you will grind off the weld of the wedge to the tube, the inner C, wedges, and tracbar mount are all one piece...

Everything is right there in the link Junkie posted....shows grinding the weld off and knocking the hole assembly off then end of the tube, narrowing the tube and hammering it back on and rewelding it.
