So, I am looking for a floor Jack, and NAPA has the "professional" 3.5 ton that has been around forever. It has a rubber pad.

Is this a good Jack, NAPA said they did NOT provide a rebuild kit for the hydraulics...

So is it just a piece of junk painted blue, or is it a good jack?

and why does the Part Number: NLE 7916425 cost much more (about a 100) than the NLE 7916420

I really don't see a difference other than the more expensive model lifts slightly higher?

Buy it. I had one for for a very long time and sold it to a buddy who has it still.

Would anyone share their opinions on Harbor Freight Jacks?

I co-worker I asked rants and raves about his low profile HF jack, it jacks up from 2 5/8ths to 23"!

But the saddle teeth are crappy and metal to metal can slip out faster than blinking your eye!

But none of the NAPA 2-3 ton jacks go as high, and they are over twice the price!! But they got the rubber pad and a good saddle with teeth to prevent slipping.

I bought one from HF and haven't had any problems with it

I have 4 hf jacks in the garage some that have lasted almost 18 years and are still going strong, ya the lift heads leave a little to be desired but they arnt as slick as you would think, the distance between the turn ups on the jack heads fit perfectly over my rangers frame. But now that doesn't matter much because we don't trust a single jack right? I always jack up and put stands under it. In the time that we have had then we have never rebuilt one or had one loose pressure. IMHO they are the best bang for the buck and if I remember right they even carry a life time warranty that hf will just swap one out like they do with some of the Pittsburg tools.

I also just picked up two of low profile jacks to lift my Volvo into the air, those things are bitchin. Really light all aluminum and a low pump to full extension ratio. But don't quite have the lift of the others. So for a regular ranger they don't do much good. The only reason I got these is the volvos frame sits about 4 inches off the deck and the standard head is to big to fit under.

We have one of those at work. It's pretty good from what I've seen so far. We have had it 6 months and nobody managed to break it yet.

The NAPA jack, not the HF one.

I bought a Harbor Freight jack (orange) back in the early 90's for like $59.95. It has served me well & paid for itself many times over. I also do maintenance on it once a year & lube moving parts & grease the nipple-

I have the 2 ton lightweight blue and silver jack from HF... got it cheap and I love it. It's so lite and easy to move around since I have to lock it up in the shed 80 foot from the driveway where I usually use it.

If you want a really good jack and are willing to spend that much on the Napa jack, then I strongly suggest a Hein-Werner jack. I have one at work that is older than I am and has only had one pump rebuild, went 20 years on the original pump, but still works like a brand new jack.

The shop jack is a orange Harbor Freight. It will bleed down in less than half an hour, and has almost no control over the release valve. Needless to say I hate those jacks.
