Hey folks!

Today I was out running some errands and I got the codes:

p0171 (which is a code I get a lot but haven't figured out how to fix it yet)

c20B8 (I looked it up and its for Diesel vehicles??)

B0000 (speedometer issue I think)

Any advice on c20B8? could it be related to B0000?

Thanks!

ever have an electrical fire?

The thing in common with all those codes is bad wiring, bad ground, or short... sounds like the wiring has some issues?

p0171 (bank 1 too lean) I have had a bazillion times on my GM... 2 things to "fix" it short term or long term there... bottle of fuel injector cleaner has made mine go away every time - for at least 6 months at a pop.... long term, new fuel injectors. Course with the computer there are 200 other things you could have along with it... dirty MAF, dirty/bad O2 sensor, bad computer, etc etc - every aspect that monitors the fuel ratio is suspect as well as the system that actually does the fuel ratio.

Do you change altitudes a lot - and I mean drastically change altitudes not a 500' hill, but a 2500' or greater.
Every time I went back and forth from Austin (400' ASL) to Denver (5280' ASL) I got the code - for me it was always "right" bank (forget if that is 171 or 174). Even running between Bandimere (6800') and the plains (4000') would generate it fairly occasionally.

I should ask (my bad for assuming it was "like mine") - any symptoms, running like crap, stumble, stall? There is "too lean' and "tooooooo lean" - the former is what I always got, barely lean with no symptoms.

I’m moving this to the 2.3l forum where it may get some more help…

I do live in a really hilly area and do a good amount of mountain driving, but I've been getting the lean code a long time. I was getting it when I lived in Oklahoma and never changed elevation. A bottle of fuel injector cleaner usually did the trick for about 500 miles or so, but lately it hasn't been working so well.

I've changed my MAF and upstream O2 sensor not too long ago. Looking like maybe I just need to change my fuel injectors, I've been putting it off because I'm broke and they are expensive.

I also sometimes get a code saying I have a evap system leak, but I haven't been able to find it.

Truck seems to run just fine, if a little low on power. I figure the lack of power because the engine is so small.
I drove from OKC to Salt Lake City back in August, I got codes the whole way but saw no actual problems with performance. I'm guessing it is barely lean like you are saying.

Yesterday I checked my oil and there were bubbles on the dipstick, I'm guessing this may be related. Maybe I have some sort of leak and its letting air into the crankcase? Could this be causing the lean symptoms too?
I'm very much an amateur mechanic.

I'll take a look at the wiring, thanks!
