My Weekend From Hell.

So on Thursday I drove down to Denver to install 4.88 gears and lockers in the front and rear axles of my truck. I had to leave at 4am to get to the guys house by 830. Well we recieved a bunch of snow so the roads were pretty bad. Around 2 hours into the trip I started to lose power. I have a snorkel and here the snow had funneled down and plugged my air filter with a massive amount of snow. After a new air filter and turning the snorkel around we get to the regear guys house 3 hours late. While dissasembling the axles the guy asked me if I got a 7.5 ring and pinion. I said no I got a 8.8. Sure enough I actually had a 7.5 rear axle. I own a 96 4.0L which should have an 8.8 but I never actually looked. Here the guy specializes in 8.8's so he built me an explorer 8.8, this was a blessing in disguise. I had to stay an extra day to get all the work done. Well here the truck is all regeared and Im super happy with it but I still needed to get it aligned so the new 35s wouldnt wear funny. On looking for a shop I was driving down Federal Blvd when a green Audi tries to cross 4 lanes of heavy traffic and I tbone him, he ran. The trucks now totaled with the frame rails bent, engine mounts cracked, radiator and fan smashed, cab bent. Well here the driver was a 14 year old hispanic kid who stole his moms car, 5000 in cash and was running from another hit and run when he crossed Federal in an attempt to get away from the other driver when I finished the job. I also lost my phone, had to grind the powertrax lockers to fit in the front dana 35 housing, lost my spare tire in traffic, had to stay 7 hours longer in Denver and now Im dealing with insurance.

Im gonna get another Ranger and swap everything I can. My moab trip was in 3weeks...

Yeah the past few days were not too fun. You all are right, waking up in the hospital would have made it much worse. Im actually handling it pretty well it makes for one hell of a story.

Glad you're O.K..........it wasn't quite a weekend from hell.....but it definately qualifies as a Weekend on the outskirts of Hell...trust me....I am a doorgunner
