I finally found out the problem with my truck . it was saying dealer only code. It was the o2 sensor on the passengers side! This is how my days off began . I went to auto zone and the manager or whoever must know I buy alot of stuff for my truck he knew the year and everything ! He gave me 10 % off and free hand cleaner !!!!! Ive gotten so many stamps on my card I must have gotten the free $20.00 like 4 times. So i get my part and go home to put it in . I thought it was going to be easy . 6 hours later and alot of yelling I still did not have it out . So I called my uncle a that worked for ford for 15 years and I brought it over to his garage . And again 3 hours wasted . Craftsman tools suck they have to much play in them . My uncle got on it with a snapon rachet and my new 02 sensor remover and he found a way to round out my cheap . exepensive 20.00 tool ! My senor did not move. So he told me to take it somwhere with touches to heat it that would be the only way . So i drove around looking for placed that I looked to be not bussy to get it out .. 14 places later they all had better thinks to do ! So I made a apointment at the garage that could get me in the fastest . It will be tuesday morning.
SO I wasted most of my day ... I decided to get something done at least . I finally fabed up my grill guard to fit my truck . Came off a Toyota and took a total of 1 hour to make brackets . I priced around for a place to make the brackets and they say 3-4 hours at 55$ a hour!
So here are my points
I should get a loan out and start a garage all I need is a couple of people that know what they are doing and I could make a killing . All the places around my house ive heard nothing but how they rip people off . I could undercut everyone else and charge 50.00 a hour and my place would be packed . Not only would I fix a car right but if they came back with a little problem I would fix it free if it had something to do with what I fixed. Also If someone needed there car fixed asap I myself would stay a few mins or ask one of my workers if they want overtime and have them fix it . I work at walmart and have been tought that people will go elswhere if you do not accommodate them !
My uncle told me he left ford because with all the new cars that were comthing out he sayed they were more of a pain then anything . Ive you have ever changed a 02 sensor on a 95 ranger passengers side let me know!
i agree with him, Ford must have some took they made just so people would pay them to fix it !
The only good news is that my truck looks alsome with the new grill guard and my truck also runs the same even with the o2 unplugged. I wish I knew a dealer only part was 50.00 at auto zone 3 months ago !
Honda civic o2s are way easyer to get to then this one on my ranger .
