My Trx Project!

Well, the ranger has been done for a bit now,


Finally Saved up the cash and got me quad done, so i figured id share a bit and give you the guys a little info on the build,

The Quad is a 2004 TRX450r, i bought it new and 04, she poped the crank counter balance in 07, and i got it running last week lol.... i was quite excited,

I wont get into the detail of what took soo long, but a vehicle was more important then a 4 wheeler lol...



Anyhow, the build specs

Engine TRX450r
Bored .30 over, for a 480CC at 12.5.1 Compression
Removed factory round slide Carb 42mm, replaced with FCR From yfz(39mm stock) Bored out to 42.5 Taper bored
New crank, clutch, and other components
Rage Ported Head, +1 intake Valves, Stock Exh, Hotcams Stg 2
Dyna Tech Programmable ign, +1200 Rpm, 4 settings.
Rossier Full exhaust



Well to say the least she runs pretty strong, up to speed in now time,

wow, i just realized...we both drive ranger splash 3.0L 4x4...yours is a year newer and 6in lift with some other stuff probably.....and the same fourwheeler, mines a year newer... ha

nice, i really like the color of your "Splash" decal....

I wouldnt doubt yours is faster...but, if mine went any faster, i would probably hurt myself...haha

wish i could head up there opening week...college is taking its toll on me..

i always have a blast tearing into those one cylinder dirtbike/atv motors. Got any pics of the engine tear down and re-assembly?

i didnt do it my self this time, i had a race shop in TX do the work, but i do have an album of the last rebuild tear down/carnage


The transmission is the hardest part of the rebuild IMO

And this build has all kinds of stuff from measuring combustion chamber CC's to checking valve to piston clearance, ETC, plus the original carnage that lead me to tear it apart, plus a couple of heads ive ran lol...... you could say its a bit of a bad habit
