My truck burned down today

2003 I walked into a gas station, guy walked in behind me and told me my truck was overheating, said no it’s not, looked outside and smoke pouring out under the hood.

I knew exactly which “good enough for now” wire it was. Pop the hood and like an idiot I grab that wire to break it, it broke, but it also burnt the shit out of my fingers.

Yea no insurance i gave the title to the wrecker and wiped my hands clean i gotta save up for the 94 or i might just stop with Rangers honest to god i just don't want it to burn down low key wild a 2.3 ranger did that i just done rn

If i was closer i would help you get into another ranger. They are all over around here sitting in yards

Nah it's alr I found a 454 Chevy 3500 dully with a third wheel on it that runs for 600 I'll get another ranger one day but the burning down I think I gotta take a min lmao

It did make it 30 years before it burned down... sounded like it had a pretty rough life too.

Yea it definitely did just wish rebuilding trucks like that wasn't so expensive now bc I want to I mean I literally cried about it but I'll live I'll get another and build it how I want but for now I want a big truck and just slowly add to it and then come back and grab a ranger or I might get mine back and just put the 454 in it maybe

A dually with a big block....

Those are pretty thirsty... and repair parts aren't any cheaper.

These little Rangers are pretty robust for what they are. I've put a million plus miles collectively on a dozen or so trucks. You can over work them... but you got to use some good common sense.

BTW... bigger trucks make bigger fires and burn longer...

That's tru lmao just idk the big block and dully is fun and yea parts are more then ranger parts but idk even just looking up lift kits and other things it's cheaper then the ranger lift kits and idk that ranger kinda hurt my soul in away I put alot of time an effort and I think ima just take a step back and just take a min i put enough money in that one ranger to buy 5 complete runing ones and I think it's time to let her go and just go big or go home ig

I guess expensive may be relative to one's income, but if you aren't customizing beyond stock, I think Rangers are fairly cheap to work on IF you do the work yourself.

Not around me the parts from junk yards are 100 a piece and they never have parts i need and then on top of that the upgrades I want to do it gets expensive and plus rebuilding a burnt down ranger just ain't worth doing unless u have **** u money and I don't rn so 600 bucks for a running chevy k3500 ain't a bad idea I make good money but everyone wants insane prices for shit

It isn't worth rebuilding a burned down anything.

Sheetmetal is warped, temper is out of everything.

Just gotta replace the driveline, frame, body, interior and all the wiring. :icon_thumby:

Yup. Heat ruins metal tempering
