Soooo a while back, probably in the summer, CD's started to get stuck in my six disc and they wouldn't eject. How can I access the six disc itself to get my CD's out of there? :icon_twisted: It's a stock six disc, btw.

Thanks:icon_thumby:

I don't know but my dually has one you can have for the price of shipping.... I have a Ford one and an audiovox one .....

You have to rip the whole head unit apart. We usually send them out to an electronics repair company to get it done.

is this an in dash changer or a factory ford remote unit.

i think you just have to take the whole radio apart, but ive never had to do it on a newer one so idk

I think the CVTCGM and Taurus were the only things Ford every put the remote unit in. Everything else got the CD-6 in dash unit.

My lincoln has a Factory trunk mounted remote changer that I replaced with an audivox and my Dually has a Factory Ford unit mounted inside the center console. Come to think of it the Expedition had one mounted in the console. I did not know Ford had In-dash changers.

Yep mine's the in-dash six disc... the dealer I bought it from just said they would replace the whole radio instead of trying to fix it...

That's usually what happens. You still gotta rip the whole thing apart to get your discs back.

What's a good aftermarket head unit with a single disc CD player cost if I install it myself?

i got a good one for my f150 awhile back for like $80 but it was on sale, then i got the adapter just to save time which was like $8, and i had the radio installed in like 10min. But you will probably need an adapter plate since yours is probably 2din radio. but you can pick up a cheapo for like $40 or spend as much as you want lik a couple of thousand.

just go somewhere and pick out a radio you like, thats the best bet

Definitely not a couple grand. Under a 100 would be better lol. Don't need GPS or any of that crap, play movies, nope!

go to walmart or bestbuy or any place that might have car radios (walmart tends to be a tad cheaper compared to the other places) find one you like.Deffinately stay away from dual if you want a radio that lasts more than a couple of months. I had a pioneer in my f150 and it sounded good and picked up stations and was easy to use, but i dont think they make that style anymore. I've had some problems with older kenwoods and pioneers but cant speak for the newer ones.

I think with most newer radios quality isnt a big concern anymore (all seem to pretty decent *except dual my brother only buys them cause they last about as long as his cars do 6 months*)its all about your style.

If you want a double din pioneer touch screen with a front usb port and sd card slot lemme know. Might be selling mine in favor of a flip out screen.

Sounds like it is time to remove the unit and just put in another brand. You will have to send that out for repair most likley. I have heard that heat build up in a vehical can cause this issue. Not sure if this is correct but it could be a reason why this happens.
