I was moving it so I could get to all the screws. I have never done this in my life so I have no idea what you mean. Lol. I don't know if I was in gear or not. How do I line stuff up?When you removed the shifter before taking the transmission out, was the transmission in neutral? You may have to take the shifter out and make sure everything is properly lined up in the transmission before putting it back.
Im not good at describing it. I just know it’s best to have it in neutral. Otherwise you have to put the shifter back n at exactly the same orientation it came out. Otherwise, it can’t move the shift rails properly. When it’s in neutral, all the shift rail doohickeys down in there are lined up together.I was moving it so I could get to all the screws. You’re not wrong at all.I could be wrong... but the picture looks like it was in 2nd gear when you pulled the shifter.
