here's the roof rack i'm building (basically done minus paint)...

so far i've got 3 hours and $66 dollors into it.

Dimensions are,
47" outside to outside width
68" outside to outside length
5" overall hight

plate is 3/16"
Tube is 3/4" sq .063 wall

looks good i like it how do you have it mounted cant really tell, i want to do a rack just like that
 
wow very nice and clean. i want one for my exploder!
 
I bought an aluminum one for 75 bucks used. Nothing wrong with it. I mounted it on Yakima bars that I got for nothing but had to buy q-clips for. All told I am 150 bucks in on my setup.
 
thats exactly like what i want except mine has to go on a 97 ranger ext cab. i have no idea how i wanna mount it
