i tried to pull out a stump out and i just didnt have the power :dunno:

i pulled out every root on the damn thing but she just wouldnt get the stump out. i even tried rockin it out and it accually caused my truck to misfire a couple times. i tried 2wd 4 high and 4 low and just about ripped my bumper off... it gets worse... i had to call my buddy up with his dodge to pull it out!!!:annoyed:

i miss my old 302. it was only 2wd but it had the power to rip things out of the ground.

you dont have enough weight to get that out. i'm sure you have plenty o power but when your dealing with stumps, weight is what you want.

x2 on the tractor... i've seen guys blow their rearend out pulling stumps outta the ground, not just d44 either... like the big ol 2 ton fords and dodges.

or if you're my dad, we just use the log loader to pull em out :)

try 4-low reverse.

Dude - you just should have used the jack - not the truck. I've pulled (pushed?) a bunch of stumps out. Cut the roots, dig a hole under the stump, put a fat 2x10 or something on the bottom of the hole, pull the jack out of the Ranger and give the stump hell. Worked for me anyway.

I got a 10 ton comalong it works quite well would rather use a tractor but don't got one.

rangers are wimps. my 1ton will rip stumps out of the ground no problem as long as i have a strong enough pulling device. i wouldn't recommend chains. use big fat nylon lifting straps

Not much of a stump if a pickup truck will pull it.

Dynamite is the correct answer, looks and sounds cool too KABLAMMO.:headbang:

I don't think I've ever seen a problem in my life that couldn't be solved by alcohol or artillery. And that definitely includes precision explosives, the ultimate problem solver!

yea it wasnt worth blowing up my rear end, thats why my buddy came with a bigger truck. the stump wasnt very big and i had a 30 ft tow strap. my truck is better for playing around on the trails, not so much for pulling stumps..lol...i did use it once to pull out some clothes line poles that were set in concrete in my backyard and it pulled them out no problem...oh well

Don't you have a rear hitch? You used the bumper?? I have a front and rear 2 inch receiver hitch. They have never let me down. Did you get a pic of the stump?? I need to see how big that sucker was!!!! lol
