My credo
the grey-t escape
This has been happening for a few weeks in my ‘09 escape, Ive had it a year & a half now and its never happened before. While driving a voice from the radio (even if radio is turned off) will say: “for a vehicle diagnostic report, press OK now”. (or something like that) I finally did hit the OK which is the tuning knob, and it said “sending report to phone” Which isnt possible since I dont have my phone linked to the car. Anyone with a ford have this happen? I dont have a check engine light on, & the only thing weird happening is that when the transmission makes the 2-3 shift it pulls hard to the right, worse when towing. Makes no sense. Alignment has been screwy & inside edge of right front was wearing bad, ball joint ok so put more positive camber in. Wear has stabilized but the shift-pull still there, no change. I dont know if the radio message is related. Only other thing which was before tire wear, shift issue & message was that I hit a deer. All that did was bend up my bull bar.

My wifes 2010 she had would do it too.

I never could figure out how to shut her up.

Just learned to live with it. I dont remember the frequency with which it happend but it was kinda startling when it did.

Great. So, Ford’s Alexa (let’s call her Karen) is always watching and listening. Glad my trucks were made before Karen was born.

I will see what I can find. Yes it does startle me. Especially if the radio is completely off. The other escape (2011) has never done this and it has more miles on the clock. weird.

Pair your phone to Sync so you can have the hands free functions- after you read the owners manual. It's been sending the health reports to a prior owner's phone, he deserves to be pestered for not deleting his phone from Sync when he traded.
The pull to one side when it shifts concerns me, there's something really loose in the front end and it's eventually going to cause big problems.

As far as I know, neither the 2019 or the Escape is doing this. I've had the 2019 since new. The Escape was bought used.

Karen is already taken and it’s WELL documented across the internet. Please choose another name.
