My pickup doesn't have the vacuum tank under the hood.
There isn't any holes either on the evaporator housing that show's there was a vacuum tank attached.
If I find one, where will I get the vacuum wires from the engine to hook it up?
I need to install the vacuum tank so my AC will blow through the panel vents and not the defroster vents all the time.

Mine is supposed to be the tube style not the ball and goes on the top of the evaporator housing not at the passenger wheel well.

there is a diagram here: http://www.fordforums.com/f279/1994-ranger-splash-3-0-where-vacuum-reservoir-canister-171200/

just hook up your HVAC vacuum lines to manifold vacuum. there should be a stray vacuum line somewhere under the hood

the "tank" is only so the system will work with the engine off

actually the tank is there so that it does not go to defrost every time you mash the gas pedal.

its a vacuum reserve. vacuum is zero at WOT and with the engine off.

so it does both
