My own review of doing a 5.0L swap in a Ranger....

(Yea, I know, the muffler is upside-down, but it still works, I didn't catch the guy doing the exhaust in time, once it was welded he didn't want to change it and I wasn't going to complain).

Behold! A beautiful fit if I do say so, too bad Ford didn't put these in as a factory option....

WTF!

So I post pictures and suddenly nobody will respond? I should have held out on ya'll for a week or two till people stopped responding before posting up the pics! :icon_twisted:

Pretty sweet!

Looks like it was supposed to be there. Good work.

Thanks for the props!

Dad doesn't want any parts of helping to build another, but I think we got it mostly figured out now on how to do this that doing another shouldn't be all that bad, lol.

Nice job man! I suspect the acceleration is killer with the AWD? I believe the 5.0 wasn't put into the Ranger because in a head on crash the engine ends up in the cab....that's what I read long ago about GM putting a V-8 in the S-10's anyways.

It's not ridiculously fast, but it does sh!t-n-get in a hurry. When you get on it from a dead stop, it just goes, there's no chirping the tires. I'm in love, I want one for myself now, lol.

I don't see how it would be any more of an issue than a wreck in an Explorer or Mountaineer. They were essentially the same front end as the Ranger.
