my new pistol

Ok, shot 250 rounds through it today. At first it had a small problem with it jamming, about the first 5 clips had 1 round jam, but after that no probs. Shoots great, but as the day went on, my aim was worse and worse, turns out sights jarred loose or were not tightened good. Kick it minimal, the taurus 9 we were shooting also had about as much kick but a little less rair (SP?). Overall I really like it! Also took the .50 out and when I rolled a couple out of it everyone at the range stopped and looked haha, but I let my buddy and his .44 ruger redhawk go first they stopped and looked for it then came looking at mine haha!

Congrats!Post some pics when you have time.

I put 100 rounds through my Rock today with 0 failures, another 100 through the taurus.

we save our 2 litre and 1 gal milk jugs for targets and today was drop dead gorgeous outside, great day to kill those pesky water filled containers.

We had 10mm,.380,.357,45 lc,.45,.22 and of course 410 courtesy of the judge. All and all a fun day.

I was thinkings about a judge, but just aint got the cash right now. I do believe my next gun purchase will be a 7mm rifle.

Taurus Pt-145 I think it is very concealable and nice to carry. i would think based on the size of the frame that you need some good gun control (lol) in order to point it in the right direction for follow up shots. I personally have a CZ-75 compact .40 and a Taurus 9mm Pt-99. Awesome guns both of them, i also just aqquired a Jennings .22 semi its about 15-20 yrs. old, a real rat gun. But its concealable and good for one shot at least. Itll give me time to access the .40 without having to carry illegally (until i get my permit) NOTICABLY lol. Awesome choice in weapon.

I have pics of muh guns in another post, do a search. I titled it something about my soon to be gone 2nd amendment rights.

Nevermind I looked it up,$200 more for frontstrap checkering, adjustable trigger and 1 less round,I'll keep my Rock.

Still a nice piece!

A couple months. I love it other than the price/availability of ammo for it.. Only thing I really want to do to it is some night sights or 3 dots at the least..

Same here,I am accurate with it but some dots might help aquire the target faster.Prices are outrageous,I'm shooting the cheap stuff.

Wolf Brand $16 a box, made in Russia with steel cases, and Ga arms reloads at $17.50 a bag of 50.

Hard not to love a 1911.

when I get my .50 back out of dad's safe i'll post pics of it

what's everyone think of one of those really small 22's for a carry gun either a 5 shot revolver or a 2 shot over/ under?

IMO carrying anything is better than carrying nothing.

On the other hand, I also think you should carry the biggest caliber you can find in a gun that's comfortable for you to carry. If it's not comfortable, you won't carry it.

I decided on the Kel-Tec PF9 for my concealed carry gun. They are pretty inexpensive, and I can comfortably keep it in my pocket. Their only downside is they have had some quality control issues. A trip back to the manufacturer fixes that right up, but it is kind of a pain. Kahr PM9s are pretty similar in size if you want to avoid the quality control issue, but they are about twice as much.

Your talking about a derringer. its ok But its for hit and run. Only to buy you enough time to get away. I have a jennings j-22 which is a piece of crap but its a 6 shot semi that fits in my back or side pocket. Your better off with a .380

Caliber is secondary to shot placement. That is cold hard fact.

I can kill any(thing) I want to with well placed shots from a .380 and/or 9mm just as easily as with a .40 or larger. What were most close-in mob hits made with back in the day? A .22 or similar, with shots put on-target.

Without proper aim and putting the round where it will do the most good, even a shotgun would be useless.

Man, i'm proud of myself. Up until I was about 16 shooting my old .22 browning was a daily thing at 100 yrds no scope on a 8 inch target. Havent done it since about 16. Until today, all within the 8 inch circle 3 on the bullseye out of 12 shots all in the circle, woooo :headbang: . Now just gotta go back weekly and keep practicing for get good again. I have never owned a scope, any suggestions for my old .22 marlin mag?

exactly. .22 was mob gun of choice. less dry cleaning and messy rugs :icon_thumby: at least thats what the stories say that trickled down in my family (italian immigrants in NY in the 20's and 30's)

my new england firearms 9-shot .22 revolver has been a fun little gun. i would like to get my CC with it, but the barrel is kinda long. still want a snub nose .38 for all the time cc
