my new pistol

I'm considering a Bersa .380. They're a quality pistol. Have you considered a Hi Point? You can pick them up used for a reasonable price.

Nothing wrong with that,I'm considering a Walther ppk/s.Small but with hollow points, what the hell.
Skippy, I like the way you think!

If a HiPoint wasn't the winner of the UGLIEST pistol I've ever seen award
it would still be a worthless piece of junk.

Frankly I'd rather trust my life to a Davis 380 than a Hi Point.

Of the automatics I've owned MOST have been 1911's and all of those have been Colts.

Of the others? One Ruger (a MkII 512BB) and One Walther

Infact between myself, my brother and my three best friends
we've only owned genuine colt 1911's

Taurus makes acceptable firearms
Hell I own one... one of their little 9-shot 22LR stainless revolvers.
It's a bit picky about which ammo it likes, but since I bought it to
carry loaded with shotshells while fishing... (for snakes)...

The only other brand I'd consider is a Kimber...
That being said my "pet" 10mm is fed with Kimber magazines.

Lol, yes i'm getting a new pistol. I got the name mentalbreakdown00 because of something no attorny in town would convict me of so my default judgement was not guilty, and my dad had to "voluntarily" let me go to the psych center for "evaluation" for a month. A guy in high school tried to punch a pregnant girl in the stomach, and i uh, hurt him with fists and a pole just to let you know. I got "out" Jan 2 2000, hehe I was in the safest place in the world for Y2K :thefinger:

My brother let his wife pick her own carry weapon...

What did she pick? a satin Nickel plated charter Arms Bulldog in 44special:)

She had previously had problems cocking the slide on a Browning BDA 380.

Those Davis .380's are crap, my grandfather got one for reasons that defy me and aside from being very unaccurate it is godawful loud for no bigger than it is. I think I had better made/feeling cap guns as a kid. I think the only reason that they are the way they are and still sell is because the average user doesn't feel bad when they throw it in the river after they are done with doing whatever it is they are going to do with it.

I would like to get a 1911, it would have to be an Army edition though with wooden grips though. Since I have no really good reason to get it, it is way on the back burner though.

I actually have a Davis.

But you need to understand I paid a whopping $40 for it at a dealer...
Please understand I lived in NJ at the time and had a pistol purchase permit
(they are like a coupon) about to expire and the dealer sold the Grendle P10 (a polymer frame 380) I was there to buy out from under me... and lacking alternatives at 8pm with a permit that expired at midnight...

Of course I should mention it was the last of THREE permits I had gotten at the same time.

I've got a Springfield XD-9 subcompact (3" barrel). I like it, put about 300 rounds through it. I'm still waiting for my CC to come in the mail, but when it does I'm probably gonna be picking up some sort of .38 special to carry in the summer. A double stack semi auto is just a bit too bulky to hide on my 6'0" 165lb body unless I'm wearing a hoodie or something.

Something to note here with all the talk of the .50 DE for purposes of self defense - if you're in a state with a concealed carry permit system, there are usually limits on the caliber. Oklahoma limits you to nothing larger than a .45, and we have some of the most "liberal" concealed carry legislation in the country. Getting caught carrying a weapon your not authorized to carry is no better than getting caught concealing with no permit at all.

My Primary CC is a Glock 26. They are ugly. but they work every time!
My secondary is a S&W 38+p+ (can't remember the number, but its an ultralight)

I own a Taurus Judge. neat gun. I think its a great car gun... but due to the rifling the shot spreads out too much too fast to be worth a crap @ any distance.

I'm not a fan of Taurus automatics. however there is nothing wrong with their revolvers.

Hell, if I was the mayor of the town/city you lived in I would have given you a medal.
