My New House & Workshop

$100,000 In Florida will get you a Decent Mobile Home on 1/4 acre. Hell I haven't seen a house for sale less than 120K in years. Besides run down "fixer uppers"

Holy crap! Were they cooking meth upstairs and blew the roof off? Could be a nice place. But I'd call it a severe fixer-upper.

Come to SC. Theres a place near me for $99,900. It needs some painting and updating inside. But it has roof. 3br, 1ba, 1436sq ft, 0.7acre

About an hour to the nearest offroad park. But we could carpool.

Oh, yeah. No vehicle inspections.

You guys should look for someplace to live in Austin... prices are beyond stupid.

About the same here.

I paid $130,000 for a house with no heat or hot water, entire inside of the house was full covered in soot, paint peeling off the siding, roof leaking and rafter tails falling off, yard completley over grown with brush(you could barley see the house from the road).

I bought my current house in 2011 for about 135k. it is now worth (according to Zillow and my mortgage companies property report) about 220-240k. 100 grand increase in value in 9 years isn't too bad. I am glad I bought when I did, I don't think I could afford 230k for the house I am in right now.

It always amazes me when I run across houses on realtor.com that have burned. I've seen them way worst than this. You'd think this house would have insurance and get repaied.

Realtor says

"Agent just responded. There are actually 5 owners and it is taking longer than usual to get feedback from our offer."

The sellers and I agreed on a price.
Is this for the "garage on a corner" or the "house with no roof"?

Either way.

Congratulations???

LOL.

Garage on a corner.

For those that don't know, after I divorced in 2016, I've spent the last 4-years living in my camper at an RV park. I should have bought a house, but could never find one with a garage in my budget that I liked.

So I'm (hopefully) buying property with a 40x40 garage.

That either suggests that I'm crazy, or a true gearhead. IDK.

If I actually close on the property, I'll have to find a builder to build me a 1,000 sq-ft house. Hopefully I can find someone that will let me do some work to keep it in budget.

congratulations ! best of luck to you on this project as I have had my share of property deals & builders......not all of them good...

Hey. I've heard of this couple in Texas that does real miracles fixing up old houses. Call Chip and Joanna. Then, before they get there, throw a couple old 2x4's out in the yard. Point to the boards and say "There's my fixer-upper." And tell them all the details about the house you want it to be. They'll do all the rest and you get to be on TV.

I built my house in 88 and garage in 89 because I had 2 small kids at the time. Now that I'm retired I tell people I live in the garage and sleep in the house, what you're doing makes perfect sense to me. Can you park your RV on the lot and live in it while you're building?
