My NEW Cafe Racer....fighter....whatever

I love me a triple... Sounds so good.

Gonna get a cushion on that seat?

nice bike.
rear looks high, but i think its just that style bike though.
i have an old 78 suzuki GS 550 bobber and its really low :)

Thanks! Lowered the tail section some, I think it leveled out and is sitting about where it should be

Looks good! Hawks are known for being tough on your junk, and the lack of seat on Cafes has always made me wonder, how's it to ride?

Thanks!

This one isn't tough on the junk at all, mainly because the back of the tank is pretty wide, so my inner thighs are hitting before my junk is.

I have a 1/2" thick piece of foam that will be going on the seat. They are comfortable but only for trips up to about an hour. After that you cheeks start to get sore.

Ok I can see that. The hawk tank tapers so towards the back and is probably only 6" inches wide at the very back. If I get on the brakes hard or my GF's on the back it leads to some squishing. Or if I'm not paying attention and I hit a ninja bump in the road. :shok:

This winter I'm gonna swap on a bigger tank though so that should help. I should make a build thread on here.....

Thanks!

I bet if I was riding it my junk would hit. :D

Very nice with the final paint. Love the retro-race colours and decals. The vintage tuning fork on the tank looks awesome. And the triple sounds rippin!

I'd be interested to know how much it weighs wet?

Wow man, haven't checked up on this in months! Looks great. Like the paint scheme, that lamp is neat, and I'm glad it came out running so well. The Rockstar can is unique indeed, and I am actually kind of on the fence about it. If it keeps getting dented, youll find yourself switching it out anyways.

Keep up the good work...

Pete

thanks guys

I'm not sure on the weight...but it is definitely still a heavy mother trucker. Maybe 450-500 lbs, I'll have to weigh it.

Yeah, the rockstar can was a cool idea, but I didn't like the way it sounded. I'm getting a new muffler for it come spring

Here are some shots to give some perspective. It's a very small bike, even at 850cc

Nice bikes guys, ive built/rebuilt tons of these things. If anyone has any questions concerning anything motorcycle related, i CAN help. Hopefully that will do in exchange for all of my ranger questions hahaha. im also turning a KTM atv into a street machine for fun, ill throw a few pics up when i get the parts for it.

Still a cool bike. I figure the Monster can would have sounded too high and raspy.

Do you have more pics of the blue Foxbody? :D

What are you going to do in the way of seating (ie small padded leather seat)?

I like the NGK sticker, def go with a muffler, you wont lose anything up top but you will get your low end back for sure. Those small engines respond a TON to even the smallest changes in exhaust size/shape/length. maybe one of the later model R6 muzzy shorty mufflers would fit down there since they are on the same spot as where your headers stop, and most are the same chrome/nickel plated style. I might even have something kicking around the garage, ill take a look.

I have a stainless 8" cone muffler that will be going on, and also some new carbs from a triumph sprint.

Come spring, this bike will be 'done', although I'd really like some new forks on it.
