My first B2 I bought was a total basket case, It was worth buying, I had some fun with it but wound up selling it, now its someone else's problem.

I have recentley bought another B2, this one being an 86 fully loaded but tired in the power department.

The plan is to keep it simple, no power steering, no AC, pretty much a barebones bronco 2

I have already swapped in a manual transfer case and the next step is to get rid of the a4ld, its pretty much junk.

Nice little truck...sounds like you have some good experience in fixing them...:icon_thumby:

The eninge and trans is pulled, time to get rid of the automatic and start buying some parts.

Plum crazy is helping me on this build, as long as his vehicles stay in one piece.

I would like to get some clear information on what master cyl. to use with the m5od and what kind of connections I will need. I am having trouble finding any info on a a4ld to m5od swap.

Also, I am open to any suggestions on what direction this project should go, I am still deciding what I want my final product to be in the end.

Well this thread hasn't been updated in while. Mostly because the BII has been sitting with no engine or trans for the past year.

He picked up a 4.0 4x4 M5OD a while back.

Last week we pulled the ole girl out of the weeds and drug it home.

He picked up a 96 EB Exploder with a 4.0 OHV to use for a long block. Also plan on swapping the disc 4.10 8.8 and leaves over to the BII.

Tear down has begun

The goal is to have this on the road by the end of the year.

Once its running well the plan is to swap in my old D35 with dual piston calipers from my blue truck, or maybe SAS with a 30 or EB 44 since D35 4.10s are getting scarce around here.

Still need a set of pedals/master for Gen 1 Ranger/Bronco 2 and some D35 lockouts.

On second thought. Can a mod move this to the B2/Expo build thread section.

Swapped out the old cracked and drooped hatch for good one. I later cleaned the window.lol

Interior is completely gutted.

Found some rust through the firewall from water sitting in the cowl and running down the seam. So we patched it up and smeared some Eastwood seam sealer over the welds.

Here is the new heart from the Expo

Picked up an entire engine and dash harness, ECU, and dash from a Gen III non EGR 4.0 5 speed Ranger. Plan is to run all the Gen III harness and dash. I believe the pedal assy we have is Gen III also, just had to remove some spot welds and a bracket from the Gen I firewall to accept the newer pedals, dash and column. Every thing lines up except for two of the screws on the top of the dash. Plan is to leave the the interior bear except for the dash and seats. Its going to be a strictly business rig with no unneeded things to malfunction.lol

I lost most of the 4.0 and axle swap pictures when I lost my phone on the the last SOR trip...I will see what we can dig up.lol
