My mazdur

not bad but im gettin 26-27 with stock gears and 30 in tires so i cant complain since its my dd. but when the time comes, there will definately be an engine swap, i just dont know which direction to go yet haha

Boy, I'd like to know how you're getting 26-27mpg. My 96 B2300 (all stock) only gets 21-22 and has since I picked it up with 64k miles on it. Any ideas?

Drive slow. I did 100 mile trip and didnt hardly break 60 mph and roped 31.4mpg or so out of my 2.3L with stock tires.

well for one thing yours is an extended cab so your lugging around more weight than me.

arent the duratecs a whole different engine from the lima besides displacement though? I could be wrong :icon_confused:

Super cabs make VERY VERY minimal difference for highway MPG, they are like 250-300lbs heavier (so like a really fat passenger)

Oh yes, Duratec's are a whole 'nother ball of wax, far more efficient etc.

GREAT TRUCK ! How about a 4.0 sohc with a roots type blower off buick/olds.not too expensive and parts can come from pull a part too. And on a side note do you know if the cheer leaders need a ride to the next game?

OK here's the BIG difference in 2.3 fuel economy some came with 3.45s others with 3.73s or better yet for hauling & towing but worse for fuel economy is 4.10. Another thing is some Rangers even were lighter then others as some has a single composite rear leaf spring that only weighted about 25-30 lbs each & dont for get about the A/T tranny ones usually had 4.10s

Mumble Mumble-15 in town depending upon how light my foot is.

most of my driving is city so...
but if i had the funds I would have a turbo or 5-0 in there in no time

Noice man! I like, I am in the process of swapping in a 8.8 with 4:10's..Im thinking I may have needed to go with 4.56's because of the fact I have a Ext cab and on 31's...I am also thinking on selling the body lift and going with a 2-4 inch suspension lift....I like the stuff tire look.

and call me weird, I love that bar!

I've been waiting for a good condition 8.8 to pop up on CL for a while now, and 4.10s shouldnt be too bad w/ 31s, but 4.56 would be even better haha.

The bar is growin on me, too! it would look 10x better with lights tho!

UPDATE!
Got my aero turbine installed today and it sounds pretty good imo!

Thats all the flex i could get out of the stock suspension lol

And today I removed the valence to increase my approach angle. What i want to do now is put the turn sinals inside the bumper. That would be cool
