My mazdur

I'd put a 4.0 in that. More than enough power for that little truck. Not only that, the swap would be easier as the engine would bolt in and the harness swap would be easy. Trust me on this one. I have a 4.0 in my supercab and my truck is a hell of a lot heavier than yours and my truck goes pretty fast. I can only imagine what my engine could do in a standard cab with a short box.
That would be cool, my friend has a 99 4.0 supercab and it hauls ass lol. The problem for me is that im low on funds, and I might as well use up my 2.3 till it's toast. I plan on keeping this truck for a lonnnnngggg time haha.

you could always turbo it...:icon_thumby:

anyway, the truck looks good and i do like the light bar better in black

thanks man!

I'd pry do a turbo before a 4L anyways, and my low milage motor could pry hold up to it after the necessary modifications

what years of rangers did that roll bar come out of ?

I never have seen one like that before except for factory ones of that same style in Nissan trucks.

I think gen3?? says ford motorsports on the side. I had only seen a few where I live, so when it was for sale I snatched it up haha

When I went from the stock 14" tires on my 96 to 235-75r-15 I loved the new look but was really down on power even with the 3.0. when I went to 4.10 gears it made a world of difference. with your 2.3 I'd bet changing yours to 4.10 or even 4.56 would help it plenty!

I have 3.45s right now. Im going to get explorer 8.8 w/ 4.10s some day, but it just takes a little more clutch to start off, the rest isnt so bad.

Most 2.3's had 4.10's I thought? I wouldn't want anything higher lol
nope your wrong as most 4cyl had either 3.45s or 3.73s, even my std cab long bed came originally with 3.45s but the same year, cab & bed size of my fiancee's previous ranger had 3.73s.

most 4cyl flare sides came with 3.73s

4.0 and 4.10's even sound like they should be together!

I've just stepped into this thread to say,

Put a V-8 in it, Now!

That is all.
