My Maverick is ordered!!!!

Even if you don't buy collision, comp is worth having. Consider though, my 11 Escape was hit in a parking lot while no one was in it and the insurance company insisted it was a collision- meaning I had a bigger deductible. I thought it should be covered under comp because I feel that damaging a car and leaving is vandalism and a stationary vehicle can't collide with anything. Obviously, I couldn't change their mind.
I wouldn't worry about buying a first year vehicle, I bought a new 81 Escort and a new 95 Contour and both were fine, quality now is much better.
Recalls aren't a negative, they're free upgrades for faults that Ford owns up to.

Not a bad choice, might consider one myself, been holding off on any major purchases with the ongoing house hunt, though I did have to get a new washer/dryer last week. Hopefully ford keeps this a basic vehicle and it doesnt ballon into a $30K vehicle in a few years, Will be watching this, the “Dirtman reveiw” could be the best test of this new chassis yet!

I have farmers insurance. when someone hit my wife's car we were devastated thinking we would only get 4500 kbb. They sent an adjuster out to the house. He totaled it. Went to his car for about an hour then brought us a check for 8200. I had to ask why so much. He said they go by fair market value. so they did a search for all mazda 3s in a 100 mile radius and gave us average sales price. Needless to say now everything is insured through them

Gonna baby the Maverick

What? No chowdah all over the upholstery?

Seriously, Congratulations! Your rational for the choice makes a lot sense.

And honestly, if I could get over my addiction to antique RBVs, and was actually interested in something newer than 1994, I'd be looking real hard at a Maverick.

Keep us posted!

Reserved it at $23,590, from what I understand they cannot change the price from now till delivery? Hybrid FWD but they are scam artists. You want one little thing and it only comes with 10 other things in a "package" so I had to settle to get the few extras I wanted. Still not bad in my opinion. Fiesta is now for sale and I'm still debating private or selling to a place like carvana. 10k seems the low end so I'll have plenty to put down and can probably come up with the other 13k before fall. I really don't want another car payment. But the Maverick will do more than the fiesta can with better fuel economy. Ranger is staying for my weekend toy. Gonna baby the Maverick and start doing stuff I've always wanted with the ranger like a 4 inch lift...

Can't wait to be the first to own something untested and will undoubtedly have 400 recalls the day after it's delivered!

Price is whatever you and the dealer set up when you actually go in and order it. Make sure to get the Dora and/or get the final price in writing.

Several when their new Bronco's came in were surprised with a markup (one lady got $20k) because of the current market value. Ford came down on them but it is a lot of headache to deal with if you just get it in writing.

The MSRP lock thing is just saying Ford Motor Company won't screw with the price. Your results may vary with the dealer.

And you can change your order up until they assign a VIN.

Congrats on the new truck! I'm looking forward to your thoughts over on the other forum!

This may sound dumb but if I'm doing a ton of city driving where the electric motor is on, will the batteries drain fast and then get stuck running the gas engine alot to charge the batteries? And how much power lose do you get from the gas engine charging the batteries? I was under the impression you could plug the Maverick in to charge but apparently that's not true, only the regenerative braking ans gas engine can charge it...

With city driving, you get a lot of recharging from braking so much and the loss in power isn't that noticeable since torque is used more from traffic light to traffic light.

what rhymes with "regenerative"?

I've heard of decent offers from both Carvana and Carmax. My tenant has a late model Nissan Frontier that is kinda hammered, and Carmax has offered him more than he is being offered from private parties off the classified ads...

Carvana offered me $13,200... Yea I'm taking that and running.... That's practically what I paid for the damn thing! I have no clue how they intend to make money on that, but not my problem. :icon_rofl:

They are picking it up Thursday.

Enjoy your piece of crap carvana! :icon_rofl:

They are probably so short of inventory, they are just happy if it starts and can be spit shined to throw on the lot. Now is a good time to be selling a used car, you will probably get more for it now than you would have last year, or in the next few years.

It’s going on everywhere... people are asking more now than I paid for my 2016 Yamaha SxS when I bought it new 5 years ago. I think it’s time to sell it and upgrade.
