So my wheel bearings are going out, but someone here hooked me up. Good deal right? Then going to work the other day my truck wont start. The starter is running constantly, so i figured pinion flange based on haynes. I go to pullapart and get the replacement starter, which happens to be a superclean reman. Install it nice and simple. I also finally got the guts for the hub that I need to fix , and my breaks are goin out. Shot to heck completely so I get calipers. Its all in the bed of the truck and I go to autozone(with the petal mushin to the floor, so im drving super slowz) get my pads and go to change the breaks in the parking lot. My jack is in the shed where I was saving weight for gas mileage. Stupid! So I have to drive home, I decide well heck Im already out Ill get some Arby's. I pull in and slowly pull into a parking space.......................not slow enuff. They have those newer angled curbs that dont hurt your car.. yeah right. I roll right over the curb and down 8 ft into a drainage ditch. No biggy its wide and I had it abck in gear when I saw I wasnt gonna stop. Ill keep forward momentum and roll back up the other side. NOT!!!! Tennesse uses that netting that has straw mixed in so it looked like solid grass but was actually 6 inches of gumbo clay mud water crap! So now Im stuck. 100.00 for a towtruck to recover me and tow me home(im done driving on those brakes). The next morning I change the brakes and the hub(which i really needed the day before) and get on the road to a mechanic to find out why the truck still wont start,( i push start it down my driveway and leave it running all day). I get to a mechanic at 430 and he thinks what I do. The toothring on the flywheel has broke loose. Its loud noisy and horrible sounding. Then......nothing. it cuts off and wont start. 350.00 down the drain, I have no more money to tow it so its stuck there. I get my kids for two days the next morning and the truck wont be done til monday, not to mention like i said i dont have a dime. aaaaaaahhhh! Ok ill pray and let God figure it out. Monday rolls around the mechanic calls me, the starter was for an automatic( my stupid, i didnt know there was a difference) 139 for the starter and another 60 labor to file the teeth on the flywheel that are all torn up so it dont void the warranty on the new starter. A 15 dollar fix costs me 200. And a set of breaks cost me 150.00 rediculous. (oh and rent money is burned up fixing the first bunch of stuff,)

So long story longer in two days God provided me with enough money to pay my rent and fix my truck, its all taken care of. I can officially go offroad now, but my first offroad trip was in the city at the end of a tow truck :-( One of these days im gonna have fun offroad the right way. Now im off to figure out why im stuttering real bad, prolly IAC or TPS.

That was my weekend.

Wow. Makes me feel better about my situation! It all works out in the end though, but sorry to hear about the hardships!

As a brother in Christ, my prayers go out to you. I've had days & weeks like that.

Good lord what arbys around here has an 8 foot drainage ditch? and which autozone? seymour? or chapman highway?

it was the weight of that arbys hat over your head that put you in the ditch. 8 ft? thats overkill right there

Im in dandridge now. Im oved into that bare mobile home an dtravel trailer with my wife, and then she left me so I got an apt in dandridge( not watching kids now so I can work) The arby's in Dandridge had a drainage dith all along the right side with a retention pond in the back. Thats the low side, had I been on the road on the other side it was a 14 ft decline.

All is fixed now though. everything except the headlight switch I mounted my trailer pigtail into the taillight wiring harness and now the big brown switch gets real hot and melted the plug. my lights cut out randomly every 30 seconds to a minute going down the road at night. Any ideas?

I have 4x4 now too. WOO HOO I went and played a tiny bit at douglass lake since its raining. Its nice to see mud fly from the front. Nothing worth picturing though since all I had was me my truck and a tow strap, but no other vehicle to hook the strap too. So nothing crazy.
