1rst step is a higher gear ratio!!!! she is too low with a 3.45
Imagine how I feel, I've got 3.45s and a Lima motor.
I need some 4.10s baby.

you mean lower? As in you're going to put in a 3.73 or something? Mine had 3.08s from the factory, I put 3.73s in it and I lost gas mileage (18.5mpg doing 70 on the highway) and I really didn't gain anything from it, it knocked .2 off my 60ft time and that was it, ETA and MPH were still the same on the 1/4 mile. I dropped it down to 3.55 this go around, haven't driven it yet so I have yet to see how it'll do.
.. I'd rather have more fuel mileadge at this point than anything..... Honestly I restored and customized it to have a weekend get away ride that looks fairly decent...

Oh and a 6 Cyl 90 something Camaro
 Oh and a 6 Cyl 90 something Camaro ...
...I had a 2.3 in my 89 with a 3.45... I pulled an 18ft Baha IB/OB ski boat with no probs... I even smoked an 81 Trans Am with it once... 81 Trans AmOh and a 6 Cyl 90 something Camaro
...
By smoked you mean you floored it without them knowing they were racing lol
.. My 2.3 was fast.. I was surprised at how quick it was right along with the TA and Camaro drivers.... I will say at the time I had no HP robbing accessories on it and running on 90+ octane.. It would spark knock like crazy on anything less... I'll also say that the 2.3 prolly put out about the same HP as a 81 TA with the 301 non Turbo v8.. Ok so it was 155 HP in a car that weighs 3563 lbs. Yeah My Ranger was And I'll quote Burt Rynolds "Speedier than that"...

Nope higher as in a 3.08 is a higher ratio than a 3.45. With a 3.45 it turns 2k at 55... after 60 she really seems to be turning too high. IMO seeing as how I can stomp down on the gas in OD at 65 MPH and throw someone back in the seat I can afford to go to a 3.08 (which was orig behind the 4.0 and M5OD) and not lose too much.. Then add the turbo and gain the torque back at maybe full spool at 2500 RPM... I'd rather have more fuel mileadge at this point than anything..... Honestly I restored and customized it to have a weekend get away ride that looks fairly decent...
I'll admit though feeling all the torque is fun as can be though.

A buddy of mine had a 3rd GEN Ranger XLT. I think it was a 93.. His had a 2.3 but seemed like it wouldn't get out of it's own way...
I've been thinking about getting a new accessory belt to disable the power steering and AC and see how that works.
Switching to 4.10s is also an option, but with my work schedule I don't know when I'd ever have time to do it.
If you were closer, I have a 31 spline non-disc 8.8 with 3.27's you could have had.

Once I install my 3.73s from Andres I will have had a set for you too
Just wanted to let you know that the tag arrived in the mail today, going to mount it up this weekend under my grille guard
