My idea of a Shelby Ranger if there would have been one.

It's a 3.45 in there now... IMO it turns up too many RPMs on the Highway... I am gonna start looking for another one soon as it warms up a bit... I got it figured out but havn't had a chance to run to the post office to get stamps... I use to be able to get them at work and do all my shipping and mailing needs but as usual anything good and useful gets changed.. I'll get it out to you this week i am off all next week!!!!! It would cost a fortune to get your 3.27 down to Atlanta Ga but I appreciate the offer!!! I can get one at Pull A Part for 65 bucks if I can find one.

Cool, right on my friend! I guess it would probably top $65 to get the 3.27s down to you.

I got some 3.27's I will ship ya, I am sure it will be less than 65.

Thanks Bud! If I'm not mistaken the rearend I have to use is from a gen II or it will be too wide only because the Wheels on the back are so wide and with it being lowered it will scrub.(They barely clear now).. What gens do you have?

I meant just the gear set, not a whole axle.

Ahh gotcha... I may take you up on that offer if I can't find a 3.08in the JY... I really want to run a 3.08 based on the numbers I found at 55MPH @ 1800 RPM... Now it's 55 @ 2000.

actually for a 4.0, 55 at 2,000 would be just right.

you dont want it too low, because you will bog the motor down and end up using more gas to keep it at speed.

ive got the 4.0 in my explorer. and with a 5 speed auto and 3:55 gears, i wouldnt want higher gears than that.

but in your case, i think the 3:27 gears would be a good balance.

That is what I was thinking too but the 4.0 in my truck was backed by a 3.08 from Ford.:dunno:... The way it is right now at 55 if you leaned forward I could tap the throttle and put you back in the seat... I feel like I have all kinds of power in reserve. A buddy of mine that has a lot of experience working on 4.0s told me mine is the strongest he had ever seen and he felt it wasn't stock.... That is why I put as far as I know it is stock in my sig... I just want to get the RPMs down really for above 60 MPH I think it turns too high but just my oppinion I'm no expert so I'll listen to what you guys tell me.

Well if the deal with Kyle somehow doesn't work out I'll send the ring & pinion down your way. It's not too heavy.

If you gear down too much you will loose some of that "from a stop, GO!". It depends on if you want fuel efficiency, roll-on acceleration, or from a stop.

a lot of the fox body mustangs had 3:08s as well in them

Unless the gears will work in the current rearend I am still in the same boat... I can't get the pin out of the 8.8 thanks to the sheared of bolt... I can't believe it broke off mid way and not the head...

The 3.27's should work in your 8.8". I don't think the Ranger used different carriers. Is it the crosspin that sheared?

8.8 is 8.8. I could run these in my mustang, ranger, explorer....they should work just fine for you. I believe the carriers are all the same.

yeah the carriers are all the same as long as you dont have a f series 8.8
