with this kind of small details this early in the build this is going to be a beutiful truck if you could find a hood scoop from a 79-82 fox body mustang that would look awesome on this truck and lookin good and keep up the great work

Thanks Country! I thought the same thing as you on the scoop. Still deciding on the gold racing stripes and not sure how the stripes would look with a scoop that size on it.. Opinions Welcome.... I am going to try to detail as much as I can no matter how small....

Had a little time today so went over the drive shaft with a wire wheel used some self etching primer and sprayed some blue on... Later I will spray from the end welds out with the same color I used on the valve covers.. Not that it will ever really be seen but I want to do as much as I can without leaving anything out... and do it on the budget side! The engine goes in tonight. All ready installed a new luk clutch and joined the tranny with the engine together...

There is a guy on here that has a black 84 with a 347 SBF in it. I don't remember the guys username but his name is Phil. Canadian guy.

I'll dig around to find some pics.

Not a bad looking Ranger.. I am thinking I am going to go with the stripes too.
Question is Should I put a hood scoop on... Been thinking on a way to make a ram air intake like on the Mach 1 Stangs.. The throttle body is pointed in the right direction for it... That's a start.. I bet someone on here has done it already :headbang:

sweet I got a new build to watch!

Welcome to my build Matt! Well got a few things intalled on the firewall and core support. I have to say the bag and label trick works great in knowing where to fine bolts and stuff. Can't really see it in the pic but I polished the alum cover and the two bolts that keeps the case on the wiper motor and gave it a quick paint job..

A few Months ago I sprayed all of the wiring harness down with Genuine Joe Degreaser.and cleaned it really well. Since the donor truck is around 17 years old the tape on the harness was in pretty bad shape. So I retaped all of the wiring harnesses. Some places I took the old tape off and some places I taped over it depending on how good a shape it was in. I got the harness installed in the engine bay. After all that I am too burned out to put the engine in... It will be in before the week is out though.. I hope.. I think I may install the Dash tomorrow and drop the motor the day after... The trucks orig interior is gray.. I will be using Tan from a 92... Here is a link to where you can get the degreaser if anyone wants to try it... That stuff is bad a$$

btw, the engine bay is looking really sweet.

just a little tip. hit things like the heater box with a little mothers back to black.

that will really make them pop.

I will pick some up this weekend and give it a try. Thanks Bud!

Well I was able to get the engine in.. need some extra cash for parts though.
Waiting for the build a Ranger save a junk yard stimulus fund. :icon_rofl: I was going to paint the pully that goes below the alt... broke bolt off with impact.. Me thinks now it may be a left hand thread :icon_confused: Another issue is I only have one O2.. there is a hole for another one.. So do i just get an old 02 cut the wires and stick it in or where can I find a plug :icon_confused:
