Is there a diagram ( I'm more if a pictures guy) to breakdown which trims go with which packages. I get lost in all the letter [ XTL STX FX2 LARIAT FX4 XL]. I know to get certain features you seem to have to get certain packages with certain trims. But is there a way to cherry pick features and special order a truck. I heard it's possible but dealers don't like to do it because they want to sell what's on the lot.

If I want the stx appearance package it automatically gives me stereo upgrades. wtf. That's not appearance, that's audio.

XL is base model.

SFX gives the XL aluminum wheels, tow hooks, better cloth seats, black bumpers, & fog lamps.

XLT is the mid trim model.

Lariat is the top trim model for Rangers.

FX2 gives you the rear locker.

FX4 gives you the rear locker, front recovery hooks, skid plates, a special instrument cluster, off road suspension, terrain management, and terrain control.

That's basically it in a nut shell.

Supposedly but I did not see one in the build & price tool on the web site. The closest I could come was a locking rear axle and assume the others saying there is an FX2 package were correct.

The radio appears nicer.

STX has always been kind of a sporty base model truck.

XL is base model.

STX not SFX. You have to have that on an XL to get the FX4 package or the Saber color.

STX is 4wd only.

The waters are muddy, I think when you go STX it is badged as an STX which makes it hard to call it an XL trim level.

Try this link for the 2019 Ford Ranger Packaging Guide. It lists what comes with each package. Having already ordered my new 2019 Ranger Lariat, I found that there is a limited number of options that are orderable outside of a package, and many of the few individual options have a required package before you can order them. So, in other words, you can't cherry pick the options, you usually have to buy a package with features you don't really care about in order to get the one you really want. STX is a add on package for the XL trim level. I ran the Build tool and yes you can get the STX package in 2WD.

I would recommend going to the Ford site and run the build and price tool to see what you can get and get away with. It's listed under future vehicles at the moment.

XL is a trim or series just like XLT and Lariat. Fx4 and STX are packages like chrome or sport.

STX kinda blurs the lines, it looks like when it is selected the XL badges go away and you get STX badges. FX4 is only denominated by the bed decals so I agree it is a package.

I think STX is almost its own trim level though, it is badged as such anyway.
