I haven't got any skins for it yet, but I hear you, the darker background and lighter text would be easier on the eyes, I'm working on getting some new skins.

I didn't have anything to do with where the buttons got put for things, that's where everything is located in the standard phpBB3 forum. Thread button is up high on the page on the left, where you wouldn't expect to find it. I might have a 3-post limit set on the DIY lounge, I'll have to check, but everything except the lounges should be open to all.

I just joined, where's the roofing forum:sad:
Have you done any search engine optimization for your home page?
There's LOTS you can do for free to attract visitors.
Good luck :icon_thumby:

I did meta tags on the home page, lol. If you have any other suggestions (btw, meta tags don't really mean a whole lot anymore but I did them anyway), I'm willing to implement them.

OOps, found it. I'm a little blind;brownbag;

:icon_rofl:

Probably because I just added it.:icon_thumby:

Set up as many inbound links as you can. Find relevent places that let you add your link, it's time consuming but if you do a couple a day they'll add up. This obviously helps people find you but it also helps the bots find your site and improves your search engine ranking.

Make important words on your pages into links that point to pages with lots of relevant text. make those words stand out (bold, +1 font size, different color). Those words become keywords to the bots, they like that.

Add image tags to your pics-think of the tags as keywords.

There's a few, your right about the meta tags and my suggestions are a few years old now lol. Google "search engine optimization" for more ideas.

I will, just let me get caught up with all my honey do's. Spent 12 hours on a roof yesterday tearing off 6 layers of old shingles and repairing 2 massive bad spots and re roofing it for an elderly lady in our community, our church group did it. It looks good but I am slap ass worn out today!

On the bright side, it was fellowship time well-spent. I'm sure plenty of laughs were had yesterday.

I sit on the board of trustees at our church. I spent part of yesday repainting some of the interior walls. The paint hadn't been redone for close to 20 years! Wrist hurts, but it looks great!!!

Yeah, I like serving and have devoted more time this year to doing it. I'm a firm believer in what goes around comes around. :)

Amen brother!!!!! I'm sure that the nice lady you guys help out was thankful. Besides, I'm sure there were a few laughs to be had along the way.

One of the things our church (along with several others) does is help sponsor a camp up in northen NH. Last year for the annual spring work day/clean-up there were nearly 75people there from about 10 different churches, 15 from ours alone. Btween the us all, we had enough tools, trucks, and people to rebuild Rome from the ground up!

Awesome, That was Knoxville Outreach Ministries that did that, and our church sent volunteers. We also do operation back yard. Where we go around to elderly peoples home and clean them up, paint and do light remodeling and repair work. My kind of work! It's www.fefc.com.
