My fix for stumbling/hesitation/lack of power **now with a pic**
About a month ago I got a '93 ranger w/4.0 and 4x4. I knew it had an issue as it was my neighbors truck since 1999.
It had a severe issue with stumbling/hesitation/lack of power with the MAF plugged in. Once you unplugged it the problem was 80% better.
He took it to his mechanic brother-in-law who said it was giving a code for a bad MAF. He replaced it and it ran "better" for about 3 weeks.
Thats about when I began horse trading with him. His B-I-L told him they must have gotten a bad MAF. I purchased the truck at this time and we changed the MAF under warranty, did not fix.
So I did a tune up. New plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, cleaned the throttle body and added sea foam to the gas. It needed the tune up but had nothing to do with the issue.
I read on Serious Explorations forum about a computer issue someone had.

Post 4 is what got me on the right track. I replaced my ECM, after taking it out and finding "burn" marks below one of the capacitors.
Parts houses could not get my ECM and would have to send it off for repair. This would take a few weeks. So I searched Ebay and found one. Problem fixed!
I will get photos of the damaged board if needed.
