alright guys not new to the forum world but i am new to the truck scene.... swapping and fabrication are nothing new to me either but i have always been a car kinda guy.... until i found a deal on this 95 ford ranger from my father inlaw..... its a 2wd 95 extended cab 4 cylinder 5 speed..... now dont jump down my throat and tell me im an idiot for wanting all these mods but the truck is almost the exact opposite of what i want so here is the breakdown of what i want and if anyone has any links to previous posts or anything that can aid me in these mods it would be greatly appreciated...... i wanna convert the truck to 4wd first off and the hope is to find a rollover ranger or something because i also want to convert to a 4.0L with a manual trans ( i was also wondering if it is possible to mount one of the 6 spd manual trans out of the newer mustangs because if im not mistaken they are 4.0L as well) but i am ok with a 5spd next i have heard something about front end conversions and i was wondering what year rangers are direct bolt ons and what ones require more fabrication.... the truck is also a standard bed and i want the style of the stepside off a 2002+ ranger if this is at all possible.... i am also looking into the possiblility of running the early tbird supercharger and was wondering what kind of boost pressures that a factory 4.0 can withstand and also where i could go to find internals for the 4.0L just to see whats out there the ultimate goal is for the truck to have 4 inch suspension lift and 3 inch body lift sitting on 15x10 rims with interco thornbird 35 12.50 15s.... it will mainly be a toy/winter truck/ parts hauler because my honda hatch with 3 inches of ground clearance just doesnt do well in the winter lol

Welcome!

Sounds like a great project. when you get it moving, get a build thred started!

theres a link to OHV mods. As for supercharger psi, the stock engine can take up to 8psi. anything higher and you will blow parts.

also, if your doing an engine swap anyways, go for a 302 mustang engine. way more parts, and tons more power.

i concidered the 302 swap but for simplicity ease of install and what my use for the truck would be the 4.0 would be plenty of power..... the thought of supercharging is more of a fun thing... it isnt necessary but would be a blast
