Hi Everyone,

I'm new here and nineteen, and just bought my first ever pickup. I'm proud to say I am now the owner of a 1990 Ford Ranger Custom!

It has a two inch body lift and a few quirks. Haha. I have a few things to fix but its in awesome shape and its great :) I cleaned up the interior and it looked pretty darn good!

Hoping to get that Firewall flex fixed up this week!

Cheers and any comments are appreciated! :)

Welcome Zak! If it's pretty decent get ready for years of an addiction that some say there isn't a cure. Be sure to check out the tech library on the main page and absorb all you can. You'll be shocked how much info is here.

Be sure as you improve it take pics and post em. We are serious pic whores!

Haha. I plan on years of fun! Wrenching is one of my favorite pass times! To start, I'm going to focus on dealing with any mechanical issues I can find. So far I found that I have a cracked firewall that needs reinforcement. The body has rust here and there, that I'm trying to consider what to do with. The interior is in great shape so I wont mess with that. I'm gonna Sandblast the Rims that are there and paint them a nice Shiny GlossWhite. I know its Fokey, But i'm also considering painting my lettering on the tires white, because that looks just awesome. As well...I know my slave cylinder is leaking... I was told its a bit of a rough battle getting that to work out 'easily'.

Already on it I have some old Warn Self-Locking hubs, which makes the 4x4 and lowrange buttons look and feel awesome to push!

I'll keep picture-taking in mind. I like watching the before and after of things too!

Cheers!

I got my first pick up when I was 18. It was a '47 GMC. Ive had a few pickups since then, but not since my kids were born. Twins are in their 20s now, so I got the 600$ Rat. Its in about the same battered condition as the old Jimmy. :D
