I am starting my budget engine build and I am aiming to put it in around August. I still have a list of parts to get which include: e303, T-5, flywheel, clutch, hedman headers, 70MM throttle and egr spacer, MAF sensor to match the 24 lb injectors, timing chain and cover, harmonic balancer, A9L computer and wiring harness. I have more parts on my list but that's just the main parts that I am really looking for at the moment. I am going to stick with the stock E7 heads for right now unless I can find some GT40X/Y's dirt cheap. The only thing i can find is GT40P and I am trying to keep this all on a budget and GTP headers wont fit my budget.

Starting with the block
92-93 mustang XXX block - Forged pistons roller motor

I picked up a few parts at a swap meet for dirt cheap First off is Pro comp aluminum roller rockers

Also picked up a GT40 upper and lower intake

I found a really good deal on some 24 lb injectors for 40 bucks with only 25k miles on em. When i got home i noticed that there was an extra injector and I have no clue what flow it is.

the gray one looks like a stock non ho injector. so it should be 18psi

Its actually a white cap but for some reason looks gray in the picture. I've looked all over the internet to try and find out what it is from the numbers on it but no luck.

nice roller rockers are they for the pedestal mount or stud?

Don't think I've ever seen a pedestal mount rocker, This is the stud type

I picked up a computer and wiring harness only to get home and realize that It was a automatic set up. I couldn't remember which computer was which. What would happen if I used the A9P computer with a manual?

I found a timing cover, water pump, harmonic balancer and the oil pick up in my friends garage that he told me I could have in exchange for welding his axle shafts up. :icon_welder:

I have actually come along ways in a very short time with getting parts and that together.

the stock E7 heads use a pedestal mount rocker arm, if you are gonna use the stud rockers on the E7 heads you will have to get them converted for stud mount by a competent machine shop. or use the bolt on conversion from crane cams (not recomended).

Why is the bolt conversion not recommended?

it is a cheapo way to get-by only. roller rockers use either 3/8 or 7/16 studs, the rocker bolt hole the bolt on conversion uses is a much smaller bolt and steps up to a 3/8 stud. there is a reason why roller rockers dont come with smaller studs... strength! and yet the conversion has a smaller portion. anything is only as strong as its weakest link! and if your rockers are 7/16 stud... it wont work anyhow.

I just had the same conversation with my buddy who builds 302's. I have to call this guy on Monday and see how much its going to cost to get 3/8's studs put in.

Thanks for the heads up, I do have another question what length studs do I need to have put in?

Don't quote me on this, but if i'm not mistaken, it shouldnt hurt anything to run with the auto comp. I think i've heard something along the lines of that the auto comp runs richer in the fuel dept than the A9L manual comp.
Someone might chime in for a better answer tho.

that stud is for a 3/8 rockers.

Only problem is Crane Cams is out of business. Summit has a nice picture showing what all was included but they are listed as N.A.
Some good reading for those that aren't that familiar with the difference in the two types of rocker arms.

GOOD READING! he might be better off selling the roller rockers he has and getting some cobra 1.7's, what do you think? instead of having to buy another $150.00 plus in parts plus the machining on the heads to make the roller rocker he has work.

That's sure what I would do. I've got the studs and guide plates he would need but it's the machining cost that would bother me. Can't believe how much pushrods cost any more. With the 1.7 ratio, that takes him just up to the safe limit with them heads from what I remember. If he didn't get the locknuts with the rockers, there is more money needed.
