My Dana 30 SAS

Running jeep coils in the front makes for a soft ride down the highway. Did you or are you going to use a swaybar?

Make for a smooth ride personally, highway and in town.

Thanks for input and welcome Destroyer. Yea it was off....way off. Didn't lose much pinion angle thought which is good. Rides straight and true now. A little fine tweeking will make it perfect but its safe now.

Ride quality is amazing. better than my stock ifs. Between those Rock Krawler coils and skyjacker soft rides in the rear it takes the bumps in the road well.:icon_thumby:

Don't plan on running a sway bar though. Probably just a steering stabilizer once I get everything where I want it and bigger tires. Just can wait to get her in the woods though:headbang:

I hope this built will show that anything can be done to your truck if you set you mind to it and just do it.

I run a steering stabilizer and yet helps with bumps. I'm use to my truck leaning around corners. At first it gave me an uneasy feeling.

Im Back!

So haven't posted in awhile...sry! But I do have some updates for all you following me. Went ahead and beefed up my trac-bar mount on my axle so I don't tear it off when I'm out on the trail.

So this is what I started with:

Went ahead and made some cardboard templates of what I wanted to make. I used 3/16 plate that I had kicking in the metal pile.

Love my plasma cutter...:yahoo: Cut them out and cleaned them up. Also decided to put a piece under my coil buckets too to support those as well.

Figured if I went and boxed in under and around the back side of the axle tube that would be more than enough to support all the stress that mount would be handling.

Done, I let it rust up for like a week before I painted it...paint sticks better!

I have future plans on rising up the mount and adding a steering stabilizer there where the trac-bar is now. But I drives and handles well for now.

The next day I decided to take her out on her first trail run, before I changed my gear oil, I'll post about that soon.

The First Run!

So after I beefed up that trac-bar mount I set out for my first test trial off-road. Nothing too extreme, gears still weren't broken in fully so I babied it. Took it down an old logging road, its fun and has obstacles but won't get stuck and is all rock.

Here I have some photos of a little rock ledge you have to climb. It is nothing big but a good test on the gears and to test the 4x4. I have a short video too.

Looks like fun, wish I had a place like that to wheel.

Badlands is just down the street from you.

45 minutes. But going wheeling alone sucks. Plus finding time to get the truck done is getting impossible. But another thing I want to do is get my carb tuned better and change out the float springs with ones made for offroading, they act as shock absorbers according to edelbrock.

My problem is I use tapatalk and all it does is show a picture. I would have to use a computer to view or a youtube link for my phone.

its pretty tall. looks like its coming along though.

i looked at a borg steering setup, it was more then my 60 swap for the whole recommended system on one of my presented scenarios.. guy was pissed when i scoffed...i was like...dude for 150 more i could have hydro assist steering!

they really are proud of their stuff. and it is definitely top notch.

looks like you may want tighter shocks in the vid

if you go to photobuckets FULL website not the mobile version on your phones browser, you should be able to see the video and copy the IMG code. which you just have to then paste in the forum

Thanks for all the comments guys. Yea its tall but it isn't too tall. Plan on going up to 35's before winter. But my 33's have a lot of life left so I am going to run them for now.

Plan on going out back behind my buddy's house again this weekend. I have a few videos from last weekend, lots of MUD!:headbang:! I'll get those up this week.
