My Dad's timing belt just broke on his Ranger!!

He had 175,000 miles on the original belt. :shok:

We also changed the original fuel filter as well. :D

Fuel mileage has increased.
 
Had just over 200k on mine before it went. By the time I figured everything out and got it back together where it'd run right, it'll be another 200k before I replace it.

Clean fuel filters can have that effect.
 
I'm on my third timing belt at 140k miles. I replaced the orginal belt when I bought the Ranger at 75k miles. The second belt I replaced when I noticed tears in the teeth. And of course there was other things I replaced that needed the timing belt to come off. So I have done the timing belt on my Ranger at a dozen times now.
