Surprise... the motor isn't seized as I was told in the white one.
The old battery was junk.
And with a fresh battery she turned over... but didn't start.
It may need fuel or it may not have spark.
I'll check it later, after I fix the coolant in oil problem.

The coolant in the oil is probably the reason it was in the scrap yard. Cracked heads?? That was the fault of my last 2.9

I agree.
Now I have 2 1990 Rangers with cracked heads.

The 2003 16" Mustang wheels won't work on the front, even with spacers.
So I decided to install these, they use to be on my 68 Cougar.
They are 14x6 with 225/60/14 and 14x7 with 265/50/14.
If I decide to use them I'll have to get new tires.
BFG makes a 205/70 and a 245/60 which will both be an 1" taller.

Yesterday I removed the Enkies and installed 235/75/15's.
Went from about 24.5" height to about 28.5" height.

Then today I tried to get it started since I had hand cranked the engine earlier.
Just a reminder, of the condition I found it in the junk yard.

So with a good battery and hooked up to another running vehicle... she started and ran.
I wanted to give up but a friend was persistant and after a long crank, it started.
It needed to clear itself out and ran rich for a minute or two.
It idled on it's own and restarted easily with no bottom end noise.
Then for kicks we tried the tranny.
It went into each gear as it should.
So we drove it around the block, no problem.
Who knows ?

The engine has been repaired.
Don't ask how as you wouldn't believe me.
Early next month it will be titled and inspected.
It now has 2002 Explorer wheels with Michelin 215/65/16's.
The blue Ranger has been repaired as well, titled and ready to go.

Gotta love a 2.9. They WILL run with cracked heads, just not forever. lol

I've been busy but not on the Ranger SHO.
I found a 1997 that has a 3.0 with manual trans.
I prefer that body style and the swap would be easier.
Here it is with 248,000 miles.
It's straight and rust free but the interior is dirty.

It's official.
I bought the 1997 Ranger Friday and sold the white 1990 Ranger Saturday.
The blue 1990 Ranger will be gone soon as well.
