Got the BII fuel tank from Andres629, just need straps and front crossmember...

So a lil progress after seems like forever... the tank is actually IN now... just needs some paint. Used the stock BII front crossmember (narrowed a 1/4"!) and straps. Just needs a skid now. Also made an upgraded rear one, just needs the hitch welded in and it'll be done too...

Yeah, I'd say that crossmember is staying right where it's at. Did you bend and wrap the frame around the new piece? If so, I like it...

Nope thats just how the factory frame is, I had to bend it back and the upper frame lip up a bit to sledge hammer the new piece in there with the old crossmember still intact (to hold the fuel tank) then pound it back square.

I'll be watching this for your BII tank set-up. I plan to do something similar on the 86 street truck I'm building, and am looking for all the info (pictures too) I can find on doing it. What you doing for a bed, stock ranger or custom bed. Also do you have a body lift, and how do you plan to route the filler?

Very interested to see what kind of clearance you have between that tank and the hitch you built.

I'll have a full custom tube bed skinned with fiberglass bedsides, running a 2" B/L on the cab to clear the transfer case and tranny for a flat belly.

I plan on using the stock BII filler neck brought up into the corner of the bed, and with the hitch hanging a 1/4" through the 2"x4" tubing (for a good weld) I have 3/4" clearance with a 1/4" straps across the back to keep from pushing a hitch into the tank.

Got the steering parts from EMF/EVO.... Ram, TRE's and all that good stuff... At bump it'll be tighter then your first time, hahaha

Andrew...question on your fuel tank...what capacity is it? And what are you going to do for the vent line on the tank?

Josh, it's a 255lph mustang in-tank pump

tbird, it's a 23 gallon/87L bronco II tank and the vent will get run up the back of the cab with the diff vent and filtered as I decided to ditch the evap system....
